Geordi,

You are splitting hairs here.  To me, culling for purely appearance reasons is akin to PETA's mass killing of pets.  However, a breeder striving for perfection of temperament, appearance, or whatever in their animals is not out there begging for money from the public under the pretense of "helping the enslaved companion animals of the world", while using that money to strip away rights from the animal-owning public and kill the animals entrusted to them.

I am all for culling of dogs that demonstrate massive health issues, or dogs that have mental issues.  If a dog cannot live a life free of pain, or relatively free of fear, then where is the quality of life?  A dog such as that is not healthy, even if the issue is mental, and is not fair or right.  I happen to believe that some animals should not live, that's just the fact.  The bitch Vickie mentioned that killed and ate a four month old puppy...I would have euthanized, as well, and I can't say for one hundred percent sure that I would have taken her to the vet to do it, no offense intended.

My issue with PETA, in case you still haven't understood what I am saying, Geordi, is this:

Shelters kill animals.  Many of them do.  They take in the unwanted, rehome what they can, and those they can't, are put down.  That's the cold hard fact of it.  Most of those dogs put down are wonderful dogs, just needed a little more time to find a good home.  They are healthy dogs.  What makes PETA so much worse than these shelters is how they preach about animal rights.  To them, animals are the same as humans and deserve equal rights. I believe that no creature on earth is as important as human beings and that the AR people are, to put it bluntly, nuts, crazy, mad, insane.  That they euthanize a few animals turned in to them is not the issue.  Not even close.  If they didn't preach the BS they do, about how animals are our equals, didn't scam and steal money off the unsuspecting people who support them, didn't try to make people feel guilty for living, etc, then I would have no issue with them.  They make up these videos about "undercover investigations into the cruelties heaped on helpless, trusting animals", and then they tout them for years!  If, out of the BILLIONS of people on this world, they can find only a couple of truly horrible places to sneak into and film animals suffering, then I'd say things are not as bad as they would like them to be.  They just want all of us to believe their confused, contorted, mixed up thinking and take it as fact.

I'm not drinking that Koolaid...

Crys
