Although this is a Dog board, so they are relevant.
However, regardless of the topic, you are right, we are just going to have to grow up and let others have their opinions without getting our panties in a wad because really at our ages we shouldn't need a moderator..... should we??

RED SABLE, you are right, however, some of us are just not capable of accepting the fact that others have an opinion......Regardless, if most of us agree to disagree and just ignore those who can't, maybe they will catch on.....do we agree on that?

For you non-Americans.
When Obama first announced he would run it was way before the election, next Hillary jumped in and the American News Media had a giant orgasm. We had the first black running for president, we had the first woman running for president.
They bombarded the American public 24/7 with Obama this, Palin that, Hillary, Biden McCain it never ended. You pick up the newspaper, turn on the radio, walk by a magazine stand that is all you heard and saw. It was on many of Sat. Night Live episodes.
Because of this if you went into a coffee shop, even at work all people talked about was the up coming election. You couldn't escape it.
People picked a side and became very passionate.
That is what IMO started the political thread surge on this board.
If you weren't an American it had to turn you totaly off.
I'm sick of the political BS on this board. It's obvious the majority of people come here for the DOGS.
I'll do my political talking in Nov. at the voting booth.
And even more importantly the owner of this site apparently doesn't want the political threads either.

Memo to Democrats and non Americans on Obamacare:
You know that super awesome health care bill they they forced on us and told us we’d love it? They’ll now promise to improve it so it doesn’t suck so much. And also they’re going to stop claiming it will reduce the deficit because no one, not a single person, was dumb enough to believe that. In fact, as soon as any Democrat claimed it would reduce the deficit, no one would believe anything else coming out of that guy’s lying, fat face.
Not in my wildest dreams, did I imagine this level of suckitude from the Democrats. I thought maybe they learned from the Clinton presidency to have some minor level of competence and not complete and utter disdain for Americans, but these are not very smart people. They’re not like my dog who eventually figures things out and behaves; they’re like my cats: incurable sociopaths who claw me and demand things. Probably not who we want in charge of our health care if we all like the not dying.
It has always been about issues, issues that affect the international community as much as americans. Not wether a politician was Black or a Woman

Higher taxes, more regulation, more red tape, reduced and more expensive health insurance and health care costs will most definitely affect my ability to own and keep dogs.
next year we will be taxed for the amount our employers contribute to our health care insurance......
that will equate to many sacks of dog food.
next year the Bush (sorry for the four letter word) tax cuts will go away.....
that will equate to many wellness checkups for our dogs.
next year our insurance premiums will go up substantially....
that will equate to - less spent on trainers and lessons.....
this list can go on for a very long time
OH, and soon, if you are young and healthy - you still have to buy health insurance or face prison time.......
there's a direct correlation in between spendable income and ability to spend.......on our dogs
