GSDtravels

I shouldn't have passed over Disa and Kodi though, both gorgeous!  Love the RED, red.  Fantastic story about Beau, he's just too cute, makes you wonder how he ended up in rescue.  Oh well, their loss, your and Beau's gain!  He looks great for 12!

I've not posted to this thread, but I guess it's time.  Drake is my only dog since my separation.  Actually, he's literally my best friend and I appreciate that now more than ever before!  Best travel companion I've ever been on the road with, hands down.  He agreed with everything we did on the road, no complaints!  Imagine that, and he's even a he, LOL.  Here's a pic on the concrete couch in Rhiolite Ghost Town, Nevada, just outside of Death Valley.  I entered this in one of the monthly photo contests on another site.

Drake is really handsome. I just adore his black mask. He first caught my eye when you initally posted all the Grand Canyon photos some time ago. I love this shot though. The sofa looks so surreal against the dustiness of the landscape with it being so bright and vivid in colour. And Drake looks quite at home stood there on the sofa looking over his shoulder.

I've enjoyed reading about everybody's dogs.  We have a 7yo black and red showline male, Bear, who is our house pet and my constant companion.  He was a rescue at 18 mos. and is the kindest, most tolerant dog I have ever known.  We also have a 2yo black working line female, Anja, who is my husband's constant companion and the "hired man" on our farm.  Our newest GSD is an 8 month-old back and red showline female, Koda, who is mostly being a puppy and trying to learn to be a good dog.  We're working toward her CGC and BH, hopefully the CGC later this year.  Koda is fast becoming my second shadow -- she follows Bear and me.  She's a very sweet and loving dog and seems devoted to me.

We also have Riata, a 1 yo Aussie, who helps with the horses (sometimes more than I'd like her to!), and Molly, a 3 yo miniature schnauzer, who oversees the house and cats and looks like Snoopy when she comes on a dead run across the yard.

So all told, we have five.  What would life be without dogs?

We've got 5 dogs right now... The eldest is Jezzie a 13 year old Basset, who is failing, but still happy as can be, and manages to move around quite well if there's food, or a trip in the car to be had... the rest of the time she swears that she is deaf, and at least 3 legs are broken in 4 places... lol.   Katie is a 11 year old Tibetan Spaniel who is the princess of the house.  She owns the air in the room and tells everyone if they invade her space.  Next is Klytie, one of the most wonderful GSD's I've ever owned.  She has Mega E, is 10 years old and loves her K9 hospital visits to the psych ward.  Klytie is 150% bomb proof.  She's also able to tell if someone is not well. Last time we visited she was glued to this one gentleman's chair... insisting on returning to him.  Two hours later it was discovered that he was spiking a fever, and had low blood sugars... She does the same at home.  We have voted and Klytie should live forever.  She was someone's throw away dog, probably because of the problems associated with the MegaE. Duke was also adopted from a shelter, he is a White GSD, who was running with a wild pack for some time.  The pack was trapped, and Duke was one of two who was not aggressive, so came to the shelter.  He's come a LONG way back toward being a normal happy dog, even now acccepting strangers with a quick kiss.  The final guy is my babyboy Ikon. Working lines, an UFO/XITO grandson.  We've been taking him to the hospital since he was 10 weeks old.  Loves everyone, behaves like a gentleman in the hospital, and a bit like a black cyclone at home... LOL.  He just turned a year, and is starting formal obedience training in the next few weeks.

Bev is looking @ getting a younger female GSD for training as well, but nothing concrete as yet.  That will give us 6 They all live in the house, go for rides in the car,   swims in the river.  Ike and Klytie do therapy work, and Bev's new dog will be one who will also join that endevor.
