Krazy Bout K9s

by Krazy Bout K9s on 13 January 2010 - 23:01

Just got home from the vet with "GYPSY" we won't know if she has cataracts or anything else till her Pannus clears up, got some newer drops for that, 2% Cyclosporine, mixture, is stronger than the salve I had on hand..anyhow here are a couple of photos of her out in the front yard after the vet...also she is NOT spayed yet and may have a pyometra going on, temp elevated and/or coming into heat, have to get that cleared up before we can spay her...and she is gimping abit, so onto anti-inflammatories also...I still love these seniors though, there is something very special about them...

What a sweet old girl!  Keep up the good (and hard) work you are doing Steph!

Steph, any luck on tracing Gypsy's tattoo?  She really is a sweet looking old gal... <sigh> I've got a huge soft spot for the senior dogs, even before my own hit 14.  When I retire, and don't have to contend with a work schedule that's erratic and can be home all the time, that's what I plan to do with my time: take in senior rescues and give them a stable, loving home in their twilight years.

No luck yet, awaiting word from an old breeder in California that no longer breeds, she threw away her records so is going to try to get ahold of the tattoo person she used...she doesn't know what her letters were...

The first letter may be an I, a 1 or an L....

From what I have received emails about the I is location of northern California, J means the tattoo was done by a vet, 0 means she was born in 2000, so she would be 10 yrs old, FA is breeders ID, the R means "R' named litter, and the 8 is 8th puppy in the litter....so we are looking for a breeder with ID of FA!!!!!
Any ideas out there???
Thanks, Steph

Can't help you on the tattoo Steph.  Just wanted to tell you that "Gypsy" looks so much like our old girl, Airin especially in the face...it is spooky.  Gypsy has much richer color but the face is uncanny.  Hard to believe the old girl has been gone for over a year.  We miss her deeply.  Thanks again for thinking of the seniors.  They truly are special.  As are you.

Steph and Steve1, There is a USA club in Bozeman, a "sister" AWMA club (nearer Yellowstone?), as well as the informal group in Missoula that has been there (off and on?) for years. ¶Thank you for all your hard work, Steph. I could never do t. [O, all I can do is give a bit of support to those that do. :-)

Thanks Nia,
I would like to check it out once my eye heals abit more and can get back on my feet some, or/er driving better, ;-)
It would be fun to work some of these dogs and especially a couple of my own "rescues".
