Prager

Bazza, I do not know where you are judging  show dogs. (If you even do). But  you must be the type of person who is promoting these pitiful overangulated, chimney pipe necked, snipy looking bastards whose width of of the chest is that of a briefcase and who would not bite even into hot buttered biscuit if their life (or life of their master) would depend on it.  You are critiquing here in  your stuck up impolite way dog who resembles Klodo v Boxperg and is product of some of the best working lines on this earth. You are just a pipsqueak glutting for attention. Nothing else. You do not know ANYTHING about total GSD and his purpose which is not prancing nicely on a golf course's manicured lawn in some conformation show.   I can say this because your unwillingness to show us your achievements. Anybody with your attitude should be able to do that. And also you do not know anyhting about good manners.
Hic Rhodus, hic salta !
There was a schmuck like you in old Greece and he always was saying:" we can do this better in Rhodos, we can jump farther in Rhodos." So the Greeks told him: Here is Rhodos, jump here. So maybe you could jump and show us your dogs. But you want, just like the coward in Greece would not jump.
Gosh darned you got me angry!

Exactly what I was thinking.  Breed Standard my arse.

*coff*  paint this dog another color please... and she's not at all bad conformation. She is also multi titled in obedience (CDX, U-CDX, Can CD, TD, CGC, HC, OFA H&E. )

Granted, I'm no expert, but when I read the standard, it does say that GSD should have a level back, which Klodo and the other dog have.  They are also supposed to be longer than tall, and I've seen a disturbing trend in Germany for dogs that are short in length, and in America for dogs that are too long for their height.  Having read the standard literally, and not tried to interpret it to fit the progeny of my kennel, it seems that neither of these extremes fit the standard.

I know that there is over angulation in the rear end of too many show dogs of today, and the judges aren't judging to the standard if they place dogs like this.  Prager describes the showdogs of today just about correctly, but I think that the German ones still have the American showlines beat, at least by a little.

I think that the judges of today should go back and reassess the standard, see what it really says.  I'm not saying there aren't some very nice dogs out there, there are.  But some work needs to be done in the show world.

Arys z Travnickova dvora.(My type!)
Cordon Ansat

Navar(!!!!)

Here you have some structures I like. Some of them are little heavier and some of them are light. There is a room for all of them.

Now those are nice looking dogs, Hans!!!

Absolutely gorgoeous, love their structure and appearance.  The sad thing is their angulation is such that they could easily win conformation shows that were geared to the real standard and not someone's interpretation of it, but they would never win because the breed is divided between show lines GSDs and workinglines GSDs, when in fact they are the same breed..  I read Vikram's thread where he stated that a cross between showlines and workinglines would create a mongrel...Sad when that's what people think.  By breeding the two kinds together, the structural soundness of the workingline and it's drives could improve the excessive angulation of the showlines, and bring back the total GSD.

Just for the record, most of the dogs in your pics aren't struggling against their leads, either...Most aren't even wearing leads.  Are they bored lumps, bazza?  Just curious.

Arys is a little on the slight side for my tastes.  The rest are more my type, especially Furo.  Wow.  Those are beautiful dogs!

by annamay on 27 October 2009 - 00:10

Dear Prager, they are beautiful, and the working people who appreciate beauty know there are many CORRECT dogs in the working lines now

a few of my favorites on eurosports's site and Jinopo.cz
where Worik is from

NeroZ Udoli Ediny
Zen Jirkova Dvora
Jago  Jipo Me
Quanto Jipo Me
Anouc Lar Leomegy
Erri Z Blatenskeho
Eick vd Berger Hochberg

Prager i think the problem is they don't want to see the beauty because these TYPES of dogs are too strong in personality for someone such as MR Bazza.
he couldn't handle a dog of this magnitude,so they don't place them high in the ring cause there show lines will soon go the way of the American shepherd.
i don't mean that literally (calm down)
but you would have more people buying beautiful working dogs, but not being able to handle the "strong REAL Drive that thank god these dogs still have.

but i know for a fact that is why "harley" bougt Worik from Jinopo,
and took a crap shoot on a pup not to win and have a VA dog.But to have a beautiful correct Real Dog

with the quality of these UGLY working line uncorrect structured dogs she didn't think she could lose. (but with that atrocious picture in the eyes of a few she did)

anyone with money can BUY a dog.
i/, me ANNA / tried to take and put up a picture and get an opinion like EVERYONE DOES because i know what this dog Worik looks like in the flesh and got ripped apart by Bazza who would be afraid of the intimidation of this "puppy"dog already
