when someone hides there name from something they have said or wrote they do so because they are afraid of the consequences of what they have said or wrote, but they also know that if no one knows who they are then they can and do say and write things they would not do under their own name   as far as i am concerned these are the people who will ruin this site for everyone

Jim, thank you for tarring us all with the same brush... for your information, I cannot think of anything that I have said that would make me afraid of any resulting consequences.  I don't know who you are, you've only just added your affix to your avatar... yes, I know you "sign" jimh, but that meant nothing to me.

As for ruining the site; it has been running along these very lines for many years with no sign of impending ruination!

I can't see any problem with who signs in with whatever name they wish, as long as they don't use their anonymity to be abusive, I don't know half of the posters on here,  I have identified with them by what they write even though I have no clue who they are, they give good sound advice, and use the database for what it was intended.

I agree with jimh, and totally disagree with Joyce.

Good post, Joyce .  Common sense prevails!

I'm happy to "listen" to any poster that makes sense.  Tantrums are no less abusive just because we know the culprit and most of us don't have egos so large that it precludes us from "conversing" with those we don't have the personal details of.

Could i draw your attention to Terms of service number 15. Also Privacy statement and look under Chat Rooms, Message Boards, and Public Forums, i would think that is the reason most people have a User Name. Who is the lifelong pet owner you refer to? As i have said on several occasions, when joining this mad house i was asked for my personal info, a user name, which i gave to the owner of this sight. Knowing who i am would not make any difference to you, as you would definately know the rear end of my dogs better. Lets face it, it is much more fun knowing you are so desperate to know, but i thought by now you would have worked it out. After all with your contacts, as you are always shouting about, i would have thought you would know all about me!! I do agree with Joyce, but, anonymous or not if someone is abusive to me i WILL return that favour. JimH, you certainly have surprised me.  So in summing up the only person who needs to know my personal info is Olli, the OWNER of this sight, so get over it.  If every annonymous user were to leave, you would be left argueing with yourself, and you probably would. Sorry to the OP for my part in this nonsense, but some people make it difficult to stay quiet!!!! Liz

i think you are missing the point missbeeb what i said i stand by and if you read it again you will see that i do not tar everyone with the same brush
when someone hides there name from something they have said or wrote they do so because they are afraid of the consequences that is what i said and if you check back on some other posts i have also stated my full name and affix and i sign of with jim h which is short for jim halliday i have nothing to hide what i cannot abide is the lowlifes who come on here slag everyone or anyone because they cannot not be accountable for their actions if you think that this makes this board more interesting then their is no hope for this board  it is not a case of knowing who the person is personally it is about these people being held accounable for what they write i hope you can see that

missbeeb funky  before i worked out how to put my banner on my avatar if you wanted to know who i was just had to click on my handle jaymesie51 it will take you to my details which have never been hidden if you wish to remain annonomous and stay within the limits of sensability i have no problem with that its the ones that use their annomonity to abuse others on this site i take exception to would they for instance say some of the things they have said on this board to the persons face i do not think so and if they say they would then why hide

Jim, I understand your point about those who simply want to slate others or their dogs, however, life is full of those; for the most part, they are best ignored imo.  I'm pretty sure I've made no mention of finding those people or their comments interesting, because I prefer to avoid dross... and that is what they are... dross.

There's been much said on this message board and in User comments by people we know... to whom have they been accountable?  Certainly, there's been no change!

For your information, Jim, I'm not "hiding", there are quite a few posters on here who know my name and if displaying my full name had been a prerequisite for membership, it would not have prevented me from joining.  Missbeeb was the "pet" name of my last bitch & I decided to use it... it was nothing more complicated than that.  Of course, being called an anonymous moron etc, kind of gave me an "up yours" attitude to certain posters... I hope you can see that!

To Jim H

Well said Jim, I support you stand every inch of the way.

If you think it and you mean it, then have the backbone to put your name to it.  It moves you up from those content to settle for second place.  You may make a mistake along the way but if your name is on it people will be more forgiving.

Mackenzie
