Then I would want a coon hound to retire with me on the porch. Drink beer together and tell old stories of training these amazing dogs called German Shepherds.

Absolutely love the GSDs, but if I were to have another breed, without hesitation, I'd choose a nice working-line Labrador with good stamina and perseverance in all sorts of weather/hunting conditions.

This is just an admission. I don't know why, but I don't like labs. Maybe it is because they are as annoying as an energetic GSD, but they don't have the bite. I don't know. Just a personal thing I thought I had to get off my chest.
