I have been off the board for a few days (some would say I`ve been off the board for a few years)

However, - whats happened to unity.  There are plans in progress, I can assure you, some better than others, and some excellent, and David is gathering support - which without it, no-ones plan is worth a bean, no matter how good.

So - BEWARE..... everyone writing negative comments is justs holding up the wheel of progress on the people that are no doubt looking at this post, and are in the bracket of "not sure".    We need EVERYONE to be sure, and although we dont need 100%  -  although that would be good, we need majority and unity.

lets get to plain speaking and no insults again.... or even stop the thread, and get on with progress, and begin another thread when some progress can be shown.  Its not going to happen overnight.... it will be a fairly long process to be done properly,
Its a very straightforward decision..... which type do you like, and would you like not to have to deal with the other type in your showring ...... lets go for it and be decisive.  No-one is asking anyone to change types.... far from it, the offer is of more  enjoyment for us with our chosen type.

Mo - Mascani.

First we need the support of the GSD Clubs, and consequently the support of the GSD Breed Council, in order to make ANY changes for the betterment of our breed. That is the simple and the fundamental truth.

Videx has mushy brains, the dog that Stephanitz created was a masterpiece. Idiots like Videx who litterally worship the ground that the Germans walk have to know that in the formative years of the GSD THESE ROACHBACKS that are touted as the best type today were rejected by the master as redundant.

The standard of the GSD has been changed several times in the last 100 years whereas  the other working dogs have remained the same till date.

The Malinois or the Dutch shepherd are from the same stock as the GSD yet the their effectiveness has been proved in the field as they have replaced the GSD in many sectors. they are not pinups as the GSD, the purpose of the GSD was not a cosmetic dog with beautiful features but a working machine working 24x7.

Martin makes comments which are a figment of this own warped imagination, with a large portion of wishful thinking. I suppose that as an Alsatianist he would vote YES for the split. Interestingly even LORNAVILLE has not yet voted for the split, maybe he now feels the Alsation is less vulnerable under the GSD umberella.

Martin, How can you say Stephanitz produced a masterpiece! His dream was a blank canvas and he had just started the outline. I bet he realised that was only the start, and he prayed others would carry it on. It's like comparing a model T ford with a Veron, or a well, in the garden, with a bespoke kitchen. I admire the people who just want to work their dogs and arn't bothered if they look like a show dog. We take the opposite view we prefer the dog with glamour, added with character and great temprements. I'm sure if you had a good puppy from our side, gave it to a top working person and proccessed it the same, that would work 24/7 If as you state other working dogs have stayed in a time warp for a 100 years what have they learned, nothing stands still. As many people know David Payne is a big softy at heart, believe me! he certainly doesn't have shit for brains!! Bill Owen.

Hello.

I agree with Mo, enough is now enough, all we are doing now is prevaricating, and please stop the back biting, some of you are now trying to score point at the others expense, stop it now, facetiousness is not the answer:  nobody likes a smart arse.   Go and use that energy getting your  Breed Clubs on board:

  Regards Paul.

ps sorry about the arse word.
