Unless you're a moderator, I'd say it's none of your business.
It's questions like that, that cause problems. I'm not biting. Try baiting someone else.

Mountain Lion I nearly fell of my chair when I read your above comment.." I'm thrilled I didn't contribute to any of the uncivilized behavior.". That was a joke right? You sir over the years with your many names have been one of the worst offenders. Anyone here can check your past copmments under this name and the other names now banned. The Ninja181 was banned for a serious breach of our TOS. You were given another chance when you signed up yet another name.. Mountain Lion. Now again you have jumped in here and started your nonsense so quit while your ahead, I can only give you so many chances.

Yeah, well I don't usually post here, so I didn't want to make it a blanket statement! LOL!

Hired Dog. I have a good friend who is a Householder Monk in Tibetan Buddhism and is a comparative religions PhD. I am familiar with the teachings. (I also understand that Buddhism just like Christianity has differences.) So I find it interesting you should bring up if I hurt one of your loved ones and what would happen to me, bit to unpack there.
I am against capital punishment period. Not for me to judge whether to put someone to death or not. And yes, I have been the victim of violent crime. I work with victims of trauma so I see what the damage violence does. Still against the death penalty. Until our court system is such that it does not make mistakes and convict those who did not do the crime they are convicted of, the death penalty runs the very real risk of killing those who don't deserve it.

As far as Buddhism, we are not monks, we do not worship the Buddha, we do not prey to the Buddha, we are the lay side of Nichiren Daishonin and for us, its a lifestyle, not so much a religion.
We chant daily, we live by the basic principals of what the Buddha taught, but no robes, shaved heads and funny hats here.
