Does not indicate the wild species have arrived at the color patterns because of inbreeding.
Again, the cheetah is in danger of extinction in some regions because of inbreeding.

So, Duke, are you one of those people that wants to imagine away decades of scientific research, and say that inbreeding depression doesn't exist? Good luck!
Oh, and climate change is a hoax, too, right?

@ its Southern love, its quite simple, fenotype follows genotype, so simpel explanation is that zebras genotype, by fenotype, is muchmuchmuchmuch less scattered than from any GSD you can find, reason, inbreeding versus outcrossing
there should be diversity in a breed, but not in the individual animals, diversity in the breed, meaning different lines, can only be maintained by inbreeding, if you outcross everything, there will be nothing left to outcross to
simple example, in workingline bouviers everybody outcrossed every available line to one and the same dog, Tomba van Assenrade, result of all these outcrosses was that next generation were all siblings, in one generation of outcrossing, the possability to ever otcross again was gone,
so again, diversity should be in the breed, not in the individual animal

maybe REMAINING cheeta, after humans destroyed majority can have problems with inbreeding, because of extreme low remaining numbers

Thank you all

Duke, that's not outcrossing, if they bred ALL the dogs to the same dog. Good lord, what a STUPID thing for the breeders to do! It shows a serious lack of foresight on their part. What the heck were they going to do next, with all those siblings/half siblings?
Most reputable breeders plan their matings generations in advance, sometimes even planning a mating before the pups are born.

well sun, when they bred all different lines to him they were all making an outcross
and in response to your previous post, books are nothing more than someones opinion on paper, I like people to think for themselves instead of learn what is written 1 on 1 ,
and climate change, can give you two toughts about that, first is overpopulation, second is they are finding frozen animals meters under the ice that is now melting, cycle .. maybe
will give you a third for free, do you think collecting more taxes will change anything

Well, if a doctor's going to operate on me, I certainly hope he's studied some of those textbooks on surgery, which are the results of decades of research, rather than going with his/her own opinion on how to take out my appendix!
Not going to take the bait and get sidetracked into discussing climate change, other than to say 97% of scientists accept it as a fact. The other 3% are probably employed by the oil, coal and gas industries...
Duke, what the bouvier breeders did is akin to what the ASL folks did with Lance of Fran-Jo. He WOULD have been an outcross when he was first chosen as Grand Victor, but after that, EVERYONE was breeding to him, and you will have to look very, very hard to find an ASL dog that doesn't have him in their pedigree multiple times.
