PS

There is no such thing as gay rights. Everyone has INDIVIDUAL rights.

People were elated by the passing of ObamaCare, which they claimed was a brand new right, but that still isn't a right either. The best case scenario for ObamaCare projects that 31 million Americans will still not have health care. If it was a right, wouldn't everyone be able to enjoy it?

No, Gay Marriage isn't a right either. How do I know that? Because marriage isn't a right for anyone. Couples can still be refused a license for any number of reasons. And if the right was universal, there would be no need for licensing at all. Everyone would qualify!

The 'scotch-taped travesty' that the Supreme Court recently cobbled together will do more harm to the nation than good. It challenges a states right to regulate anything. It was the first time in history, since the late 1700's, that the Supreme Court has usurped the authority of the states right to regulate marriage.

*Note - 'Loving v Virgina' (first interracial marriage) was an attempt to regulate race, using the institution of marriage.

Thanks again

States cannot deny Constitutional rights, period.  "States rights" is a code word that is used to deny rights to individuals and the SCOTUS can and did rule that the laws discriminating against same sex couples are unconstitutional, so suck it up Sugar Britches.

Ger8fulkonig, actually over 55% of the voters were for marriage equality.  Also Loving vs. Virginia was the landmark case that OVERTURNED anti-miscegenation laws.  Yes they were convicted in Virginia but the Supreme Court ruled "Virginia's statutory scheme to prevent marriages between persons solely on the basis of racial classifications held to violate the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment." Which overturned laws banning interracial marriage.

There is a difference between civil rights and religious freedom.  The reasons against incest is genetic, the majority of children born from incest have genetic issues that can lead to all kinds of physiological issues and I would think that was pretty self explanatory......

The Supreme Court is a wonderful thing as long as it rules in line with your beliefs but once it doesn't it is problematic?  Hmmm  States can regulate what they will UNTIL it interferes with individual civil rights.
