I have NEVER called Christians bad names, regarding just their religion. I have said things about people USING THEIR RELIGION to hide behind, to spew hate and intolerance. To me, that is NOT a true Christian..  I have stated that Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Athiests, Agnostics, whatever should have equal rights.. When people use their religion as an excuse to be a judgmental ass, yea that's pretty much bull crap, and I don't have a problem saying that. If you are an asshole, you're an asshole WHATEVER religion you are.
You do a good enough job making your version of the Christian god look bad on here, never felt the need to join in and help you..
But then again if I was a Christian, I'd be pissed at you for warping and twisting everything to bolster my personal hate for all Muslims..

I copied part of your post because it dealt with the issue, there was no snarky comment. What I was trying to ask is who are the main arguers. What group of people, what person. You take it how you want. There was no snarky comment intended unless you were looking for one

 And I think a lot of people who use this site share some of the blame in all of what has happened. At one time you all defended me to the hilt and what has changed?

Sure, I agreed with some of your posts at one time under some of your user names.  But, then I stopped agreeing with you as I thought you went too far.  I was not one of the ones defending you, that ship sailed.  This was long before you became an admin.  At that time you were a big supporter of mine, see how things change....

Someone told you all I was an admin. Sorry I was picked, sorry I had to try and get things under some form of control because as you have stated plenty of times in the past this site was out of control, a zoo a rat hole and numerous other digs to this site. Go ahead blame me but in all actuality plenty of other admins were partially to blame for parts of what has happened over time. I accept my part in a lot of it but it was in no way all me. Why do you think we have gone through all these admins? If only you all knew all the truth and who all the admins really have been. This site was bad 3 - 4 years ago long before I came back. Sure there was more posts as it had become known as the drama site and now you are telling me that drama is wanted again?

No one had to tell me that you were an admin, it was obvious.  Yup, I am sorry that you were picked as you know very well, not because you were picked as an admin, but because of how you act at times.  But, it is what it is and this is the job you chose.  I'm not going to feel sorry for you or think your job as an admin is really all that hard in the scheme of things.  Surely, you would agree that there are many people with harder, more stressful jobs.  Since you are in charge you get to accept the praise when things are going well and the blame when things are going poorly. We can not hold the previous admins responsible for what is happening now, we can only hold the current administration responsible. 

Why do I think you have gone through so many admins?  I have some very specific reasons why you have gone through so many admins.  I prefer not to express my reasons as they would not be very flattering to you in my style of blunt commentary.  I would say that some refused to be "CONTROLLED" by you, were not sycophantic enough or disagreed with you to often.  Yes, rarely an admin became too harsh to some users but that was a rare occurrence and not the norm.  

Yup, the site was bad 3 -4 years ago for different reasons.  Before you came back?  I never knew you left? 

I don't want the drama, I never did.  I want a dog forum that has posts on dogs, dog training, dog handling, SchH, tracking, showing, obedience, working dogs, protection work, etc.  I want a forum that has constructive posts on dog training, dog behavior and interesting threads on dogs.  That is what I am interested in and why I visit a dog forum.  The OT forum is a great place for many folks and the main reason they visit the PDB.  That is fine for them and I peruse the posts periodically, some times the posts are rather funny and amusing.  

A few years back, besides the drama there were good posts on dogs and training.  I think that is what the forum is missing, the posts not the drama.  When there are no informative posts all we have left is the drama.  I'd love to see less drama and more information.  In the past I have really enjoyed this forum and hope to continue to enjoy the forum for it's dog related content.  I've been a member for a fairly long time and have stuck it out through the ups and downs.  I genuinely love this forum, but not what it has become.  I am always hopeful it will change, but my optimism is seriously waning.  You are the one that needs to change the direction that the forum is headed in, that is your role.  IMHO, you need to have some talks with your other admins and find a solution to the diminishing informative posts and users.  I have owned several businesses, including a restaurant over the years and I look at things from a business and customer relations view point.  I understand that if I am disappointed with the direction of the site many others are also.  Blitzen mentioned her SL friends that refuse to post here any longer.  That is very telling.  It's the old "3 - 10" rule.  Only 3 customers out of 10 will complain of bad service, the other 7 will simply never come back.  From simply viewing the PDB, it appears to me that posts are down significantly, and training posts are almost non existent.  If I was Oli or the main admin that would seriously concern me.

I'm replying to your response to me, otherwise I wouldn't have said anything.  I would not be surprised if I am banned for this post.  I am being honest in how I see things going and my concern for the site.  You can take it how you like, it is not meant to be offensive.  My last comment on the former admins: I felt Sirius Black did an excellent job.  I have no idea who Sirius Black is or was, I never had any real contact with Sirius Black.  But in comparison to some of the other mods, Sirius Black was fair, insightful, intelligent and a loss as a mod.  Certainly, one of the top all time mods and a loss.

I went to far? LMFAO, the people who went to far are the ones who reported me for hacking. The ones who feel it is their right to argue with admins and try to control everything that happens around them. I have lost respect for lots of people because I see what happens when you lean on them or go against their games. It was okay for some to personally attack others and then to have admins who personally attacked members but keep me up for 2 days arguing about my stand on personal attacks to the point of having other admins write me privately and ask if that admin is stable. I don't support you any longer because a lot of your posts are slamming this site and the admins. Telling people to use .eu, let me ask you this, since you have all the answers - where did .eu get all their pedigrees when they started? I know exactly where they came from because those pedigrees had the same mistakes as PDB. FACT. So, yes keep telling people to go there. I will keep wondering how you can profess your love of this place and at the same time tear it down with rumors (I am intercepting Oli's emails because he would not answer you, remember that one? I read PMs, I am getting paid and the many of others spread by a few.), arguing with admins and telling people to use other sites.


The informative posts were lost long before I became an admin. I have read a lot of the old threads here both deleted and still here. I know exactly when it went down and a lot of the people left and it was before admins were used. Sure we lost some who couldn't stand to have me as the admin and didn't want to stop their drama and games. See we can't have people like you who every time they get a bug up their butt about things bad mouthing admins and the site. It just really is bad. Didn't your mommy ever tell you if you have nothing good to say then say nothing???

I am not going to get into talking about admins beyond general terms. The admins need to be close to being on the same page and when there is one or 2 who aren't then they are replaced. In a company you can't have 6 managers on one page and one out there going against what the top people want. With all your experience surely you can see that without all members of management close to being on the same page, things could go downhill fast. Some admins had their favorites and COULD NOT be un-biased to those they liked and had dealings with.  Some admins got banned from this site because they disclosed confidential site information. Some were to hard and some couldn't be hard enough.

I don't blame Bliztens SL folks for staying away as it was the WORKING LINE folks who had a big part in that and I remember well one of the main members who argued with me over the showline/working line split. I also remember when the same member spent some time arguing with me about my stand on personal attacks.


If you feel the need to answer me back lets take it to PMs as this is not the place to question admins, but that wouldn't suit you as it would become private than and would go against what you feel is control of the situation. So, since you have a love for this site lets take it private and see if we can finally resolve some things. The invitation is open for some dialog between us but I have a feeling you won't accept it because it is not what you want.


I will leave you with this thought - if you had all the facts it would be one thing, you have half stories told by disgruntled ex-mods and members. Remember you are only hearing their side and no current admins who were here when all this went down.

Thank you. While this is not the most stressful job in the world it sure is pretty bad when you are actually doing it for nothing.

The dog section here could be hurting because people are dropping out of  IPO.
 I was at a CKC  obedient trial a few weeks ago,and to my surprise there were many
 people that dropped out of IPO all together and now turned to CKC. Our IPO  trial usually have only 4 or 5 dogs entered.
We also do not have any young new people coming into IPO.  Most of the members  are between the ages of 50 to 65.
The only way some of these clubs are keeping going is through conformation shows on the Sunday after the working trial.
Most of these conformation shows have between 80-120 dogs entered..Some clubs here havent had a trial in years,
because they cannot afford it.
Admin.has no power at all over these situations,besides Gas is over 6 dollars a gallon hear,people are giving up on manythings
especially dog shows and training.I your not trialing or training people just wont bother with it here anymore.
It just the way it is,just to many factors to get a proper handle on it.

Plus, you have the explosion of something called FACEBOOK where people can say what they want without the fear of getting in trouble for not following the rules. The rules have always been here it is just some refused to follow them and then when made to they jumped ship to greener grass were they can and do say anything they want. Also, forums can be opened with a few keystrokes. Those forums are fine but to do real pedigree research you have to come to this site or one like it but as people leave for their own selfish reasons and this site can't afford its bandwidth of over 12,000.00 a year sites like this will dry up and go away.

Gas prices are down in America, we are now paying a little above 3.00 a gallon and in some places it might be under 3.00.
 

It saddens me that there's such a rift between GSD Admin & Slamdunc, because from my viewpoint, both have a similar task set before them: to assist in keeping the peace in their respective communities, to intercede in situations where one or more citizens of their community are not in compliance with the rules and to enforce the standards of conduct that have been established for those communities. There are some marked differences, to be sure-- for example, GSD Admin's tasks are unlikely to place him at risk of serious physical harm or death, but then again, he also performs his assigned duties without compensation.  Even if the Admin or mod roles were actually paying gigs, there isn't enough money in the world that could convince me to take on such a task. 

I have a great deal of respect for both of you, even when I disagree with either of you on a subject.  I do believe that the primary contributor to the decline in posts has been facebook, having witnessed the effect that evil entity has had on other social web forums and boards as well; many of those sites no longer exist precisely because facebook pulled away the majority of their traffic, and that's a shame, because none of those sites, nor this one, welcomes the poster with one hand, while using the other hand to strip as much personal information as possible from that person which will the be used to generate profit for that enterprise. 

Perhaps if PDB were to limit the level of access that can be had for free, and charged a monthly fee to those who wanted to do more than just look up a basic 3 generation pedigree, siblings and offspring, then it, too, could have forum discussions that were free of the meanness that too often erupts in some threads--but so far, Oli hasn't wanted to make this a fee-for-membership site.

Generally, I can't help wondering about how slanted some claims about the
'good old days' on here are.  I lurked a bit, before I started posting 2 years ago.
I also had other people reporting to me what 'went on' on PDB for some years
before that.  Granted we were looking at it from an English, mainly S/L slant -
but I don't remember all these brilliant training posts.  We get the occasional
training related debate, still  - WTF were all those threds about Table Training
and Ecollars in recent months, chopped liver ?  Seems to me it's always been
a similar mix of the profound and the inane.  Three or four years ago there were
lots of (sometimes quite nasty) battles between those in the UK contingent of
posters, they had bugger all to do with Training issues.  [Mind you, I don't think
they were racist, either.]   I think posters remember what they find important and
quietly forget all the other stuff ...
