Make sure they allow you to view pedigrees, registration, vet docs, even if they have to photocopy them and fax to you.

A lady on here selling "Nero" won't provide any documents to view although she wants the money upfront.  I believe she will send you a different dog and claim it is Nero.

Demand to see papers first and up close photos.  Email's don't count, they can tell you whatever they want.

I had to get the credit card company to secure my depost back to me as she stopped contact... BUYER BEWARE.

At least if you pay with a credit card and have viewed close up photos, registration, health records and the bill of sale has plenty of details, the credit card company can provide a "chargeback" to the purchaser's account due to not receiving goods.  I had to do this with a gal who has a dog listed on here, although I do not believe she plans to sell that dog--will send you another dog.  Won't let you view the dog's papers and photos aren't great so mistakes can be made.  Isn't that Internet Fraud?

Great advice! Always verify everything before you purchase.

Beware, look at the names if sending money, they change emails and websites

Does the SV ever discipline breeders who cheat buyers?

They don't get involved, even if you have proof of wrong doing.

Blitzen, SV can´t discipline anybody for cheating, that´s a case for a civil court, not for a breed club.
SV is only able to discipline a member for cheating within the SV rules ( faked pedigrees, faked trials, ...).
