YR, I talked to Jackie last week, I'll probably talk to her again in the next few days. She's hurting and I understand, she watched her Dad suffer for a long time. Mine's gone downhill pretty fast, making me understand that some things are worse than death. It's heartbreaking...

shtal - Did you watch the video posted by travels? You post things for others to consider, shouldn't you expect of yourself that which you expect of others? I will tell you that I watched it, them, all 6. You can learn a lot about "religion", all religion, our religion even by listening to the young man's story. As a believer, I have been saying for many years that the greatest detriment to Christianity is religion. That may sound counter-intuitive, depending on your level of understanding. This boy in the videos, let's just say that we are all different, but in the realm of faith, belief, and religion, few have the the make-up which allows them to "abandon all", really, truly, honestly. Those who do, and follow this path of "religion" come to a sort of "end of things", a point at which "religion" unravels in the face if truth. I believe in the same God and the same Messiah you do, but I don't see Him systematically constrained by the mechanisms or machinations of flawed humanity. Perhaps that is why I can respect others who don't share my faith, which for them, would mean subscribing to that charade. In this way, salvation is very personal, if it's real. The litmus test here may be how well one stands when all of man's religion is stripped away at the end of one's pilgrimage.

If you preach using an out house wall are you bringing Honor to God? Or are you making him an object of ridicule? You can promote in a way that brings honor or dishonor. Method and timing are very important.

Travels, I've already been an atheist. It's not "all that", certainly not the necessary ends of some sort of rational thought rainbow.

Carlin, I'm not trying to convince anyone to follow any particular path, but it doesn't hurt to get perspective from those whose thoughts differ, along with their reasons. It's why we can't all be exactly the same and we can't just discount the validity of others' consciences. We have to be true to ourselves. The only thing I've attempted to do is show that diversity does not have to be divisive and each and every one should follow their own heart.
