Daryl I adore the group pic of the puppies; they are great, but so is the composition of the shot - you could sell that
photo commercially I bet.

my girly jumped up here so i snaped this she was looking at a group of people. she naturaly sets into a good stack just standing around. and also is very good with the 1 man stack the dog stay toss the ball stay and take a quick picture she will allow you to take about 6 before she starts complaining to want her ball.
and then you get the dogs who you have 4 people trying to stack and they are just all upset and unhappy about being stacked period and you get the seal affect. also would have loved for my photographer to have told me his legs where forward i didnt notice. but he was one you put the foot down and he moves it back to where he wants it. lol such a pain in the butt.

his surgery leg is soo apparent in this its bad. his right leg in the picture actuly left was bandaged for 4 months so it is signifigantly smaller than the other one and you can see the loss of muscle mass. going to take soo long to build back up. its going well so far but can only get him into the water soo often. also picture above i believe he was giving me the im going to kill you if you keep this up woman

I have a lot better pics to sell than that puppy group shot (with the over exposed background), but marketing is just not my forte. I had a request for one of my pictures to be published in a book, and all I asked was that my name be credited and a copy of the book. A fairly modest request I thought, but I never did see that book.

I love the markings and bone on your sable pups Daryl ! I put a picture once in a contest on facebook of a foal.. and it made the quarter horse journal.. but no credit !! seems if you post pictures on the internet.. all is free for the taking !! argh.. oh well.. its a magazine that I keep with pride !! kinda cool !! I love to take pictures.. but trying to take one of a 4 month old GSD by yourself does test your patience for sure !! and I am not tying up one of my cats !!! ((( hahaha))) I do love the multi shot on my smart phone .. I am glad I found it !! sherry

I don't even have multishot on mine, but I never use it on my dedicated camera, either.

Daryl - pity about that book... I was thinking more on the lines of the Calendar firms ?
IMO the over exposure of the top left corner actually made the picture; recedes the scenery to draw
attention to the group in the foreground. Sort of trick the professionals sometimes do deliberately ?

I'm a big fan of seeing the whole picture, a wider dynamic range of light with no clipping, and with a wider depth of field having background and foreground in focus. If I really want to, I can easily degrade the image in photoshop with contrast levels and bluring afterward.

Aside from old film tricks of altering exposure or sharpness, it would seem less destructive to the image to implement a gradient saturation fade to somewhat enhance the subject in the picture. The first displayed is the original, then top fade, or alternatively a bottom fade. The effect of the middle pic is far more subtle and might go unnoticed, yet achieve it's intent. The final pic should draw a lot more attention because of higher unnatural color contrast in the foreground, one's perception is more likely to see the need to analyze what the picture's surreal properties are. Instead of a linear gradient, you could also try a radial vignette of desaturating effect.
