Good! Sounds like you're on the right track.

I can't believe a GSD breeder has never heard of cow-hocked. As I said before, sounds more like ignorance than malice. So so glad to hear this good news!

I have seen a lot of American showline puppies.  When they are young, they cannot control the highly angulated legs and walk about like cripples.  They do much better when they are full grown.

Swimming and sand walking sound like a great idea.  Work him up to it slowly.

Watch your pup on slippery/slick surfaces.  He has poor control over his limbs and you don't want to risk any injury, like a pulled tendon.

Good luck with your pup.  It is probably going to be just fine.

Thanks everyone! I can't tell you how relieved I am! We'll take it slow and build this cute little guy up to be, hopefully,  a strong healthy and beautiful GSD that ANYONE would be proud to call their own!

I have a dog from same breeder George Boyung  and same litter as you! I also have problems with his walk and right ear won't stand up. I have spent a lot of money trying to fix the ear and I do love my dog, but it is sad.

5mos. old, from those kind of lines, I am not at all surprised the ears aren't standing.  I don't know what could cost that much money with regard to the ear; let him chew lots of beef soup/knuckle bones. It's completely normal and common for ears to go down during teething. Mine don't, but I don't feed much kibble and they get plenty of bones.

to Volball123,
My pups right ear is being very slow coming up. However, it IS staying up for longer periods of time. When he is playing with my friend;s schipoo, 3lbs, both ears are right straight up!
The only thing that I'm noticing now is that the very tip of his right ear doesn't seem strong. Even when he's happy, playing and excited to be running with the 3 pounder, the tip of that ear bounces up and down. Also, he is still working on teeth.
I'd love to meet you sometime, if that would be possible and let our pups meet, as well.
I don't believe that George and Netta are malicious in any way. I just think that they take alot of things for granted when it comes to the breeding of their dogs.
When we went to their house last Monday with Baron, they told us that they have another female that will be coming into season soon so, another litter will be coming.
You cam PM me any time.
Thanks for your input.

use the method describe earlier in this thread, creases can cause everlasting problems

By putting tape on my dogs ear for a couple of weeks , changing it every four or five days has made a huge difference. Yes, it's cost me hundreds of dollars despite what at least one person on this site can't seem to understand it's worth it. Zues is an extremly smart and loving dog and I wish the same for your dog.

Toothfairy, very pleased to hear your news. What I really love is that you committed to this puppy and whatever may have been wrong before you had the results. That's what it is all about as far as I am concerned.

Hopefully all the suggestions you have been given will work wonders. He will always be overangulated, but then so are many top showline GSDs! Please update on how he progresses.  Enjoy your dog!
