Nobody breeds german shepherds like that Felch chart, and I haven't deciphered any hidden patterns from it that I find useful. The pedigree from the #14 pairing would be something like a 2-2 on full brother/sister, and a 2-2,3 on the original founding sire (#2). Each pairing at the bottom (#14-18) is only two steps from the original founding female in the direct maternal line, and so are the males regarding the direct sire line with exception of #14, which is 4 generations to the founder.

14 wasn't the only answer. There's 6 vs. 8, 9 vs. 13, only females were selected from 11...
