I printed out the chart to "bang my head" on :) just thought I would let you know as I think in mental pictures a lot, everytime I see your name now the pic that is going to pop in my head is a man in a chicken costume jumping out of a cake and doing a strip tease. LOL

Why not the Puss in Boots getup?

Nobody breeds german shepherds like that Felch chart, and I haven't deciphered any hidden patterns from it that I find useful.  The pedigree from the #14 pairing would be something like a 2-2 on full brother/sister, and a 2-2,3 on the original founding sire (#2).  Each pairing at the bottom (#14-18) is only two steps from the original founding female in the direct maternal line, and so are the males regarding the direct sire line with exception of #14, which is 4 generations to the founder.

14 wasn't the only answer.  There's 6 vs. 8, 9 vs. 13, only females were selected from 11...

Line-Breeding v/s Outcrossing?

Ponder this.  Gernot Riedel had a quip which may be applicable. "Sometimes the dumbest farmers produce the biggest potatoes."

O.K. could be the Nyquil I took but I don't get the farmer reference well I get it, I just don't get the relevance.
