Thank you Mo. As you can probably imagine, what you had to say didnt surprise me one IOTA !!  During my bried encounter as BAGSD Gen Sec for this incoherent EC it soon became obvious they were incapable of recognising the fact that they were there to serve the club and not the other way around.

I have said many times and I will repeat it again, there is something badly amiss with ANY organisations Executive Committee that so fears a Gen Sec who insists on correct protocol being followed at meetings including the writing and distribution of minutes, that they insist that she refrains from producing them in advance of the next meeting and certainly do not want Action Points noted. Of course this was much to effiecient for their standards as the note of action points served to remind those who never do anything from one meeting to the next of just how many things they keep failing to do and allowed 'others' to be aware of this fact.

Yeh their, "It has been done this way for 20+ years" attitude is precisely the trouble with this tin pot EC. Thats why it struggles to gain any respect from its members or from those who would otherwise be members if it werent for the inefficiencies of those sat on the EC .  You know the reason they keep silent dont you, with them lot its a bad case of the Ostrich syndrome, what the eye dont see or the ear dont hear, the mind dont worry over and all their crap can swept under the carpet for yet another year.

Still I suppose there was always going to be a limit to the amount of crap a carpet can hold before the stench gets that bad that it alerts the natives and then the shit hits the fan !!!  lol   Seems like shit and fan is where they are at now. The fact that the two most respected and fairest, most genuine and hard working people on that EC finally quit and walked away this year says it all.

Spot on Sue in your description - I wish I could have put the meeting into such descriptive words.  The very reason that you say  "Ostrich Syndrome" shone through when they must have thought about the controversial issues that might hit them, so they just left off the Agenda   A.O.B.  That beggars belief to me

However, there are more serious issues that I wish to write to the Chairman personally about.  These will become apparent.  I must give credit where credit is due in one respect.  The meeting was well chaired, I am surprised to say, and I think it was all to do with the fact that Bob Honey was left to his own devices rather than having Andrew there, although that in itself spoke volumes,  i.e.

1.  Leave items off the agenda  -  they wont be talked about

2.  Controversial people on the EC dont attend  -  questions cant be asked of him

3.  Dont thank past EC members that have resigned for their past services - then they      never existed

Now  -  and only now  -  do I find that there are area VPG meetings to attend.   One kind lady of the EC thought that was a point scoring issue when she said that we should bring sensitive issues up at our area meetings. Neither I nor Shirley nor anyone at Derbyshire had been told of such or been contacted to attend an "area meeting" where apparently stuff is voted upon...

This is such a fragmented association, with such a poor public image I am surprised that its still standing.    Mo.

Its still standing because people remain members of it and give it credibility, finance and support

SPOT ON Reason !! You also Mo!!

Though going back to  Mo's post, I feel a need to add the following.
Leaving AOB off agenda would definitely have been for the reason you gave MO, however that they did so in the hope it would deter any unwanted issues being raised asked is not the only problem here, the very fact they failed to realise this was not correct procedure for an AGM Agenda is an enormous problem on its own. The very fact that honest, professionally efficient officers of a club would never have allowed it to happen is the problem and the reason such people were forced out, chose to quit or both. So the puppet chaired the meeting in the absence of his master eh? And where was the Puppet Master you say, oh yes lord and mastering it over another Breed Club Show. As you say Mo, how convenient he couldn't be there, though the fact his other club were holding an open show on the same day as BAGSD's AGM may well have been an oversight (a convenient one I agree) but to suggest it was arranged on purpose is I think crediting them with far too much intelligence. !!  More likely some other excuse was in the pipeline until the clash finally dawned !!

1. Yes, out of sight out of mind, then remove AOB so these unwanted questions don't have anywhere else to raise up and bite them.

2. True but if this is the case (and I don't doubt that it was), what type of Association retains such a Controversial figure as Vice Chairman? Unless of course serving the breed and it's members in a satisfactory way is not as high on this Associations Agenda as serving ones Self Interests first?

3. This COMPLETES THE EXACT PICTURE OF THIS UTTERLY INCAPABLE, INAPT AND UNPROFESSIONAL SELF SERVING EC and its now about time its dropped the E because there is nothing Executive about this Committee unless of course you consider it means:- Concern with having the authority and power and capacity for executing, carrying out certain duties and functions for the benefit of ... their self serving interests!? (Dictionary description in bold italics).
Considering the word Executor (applicable to each EC member) is described as "Person appointed by another to enforce and carry out the provisions of his will", these EC members have constantly considered themselves above those whose will they are supposed to be enforcing, i.e the will of the Members, not themselves. Unfortunately this is always going to be a problem when putting Self Serving Individuals into Office.

Sorry forgot to add, that I have no problem with any Committee person whose own principles occasionally differs from those of the members. I am certain that over the years there will be many upon finding a conflict of interests have done the honourable thing and resigned. No sign of any honourable stepping down from this motley crew any time soon then? NO, guessed not. The only people this EC loose are those who being totally in tune with the Membership can no longer stand by listening to all the lies and deceptions these underhanded cheats constantly feed to the members. The only thing these honourable people can do is to step down in order to free themselves into telling the truth!!!

When the BAGSD have their EGM in order to sort out their financial 'Ltd Co' situation, perhaps a vote of 'No Confidence' in the EC should be considered. Takes a lot of guts and gumption to do, being there , done that , so believe me I know, but the GSD League turned out the better for it and cant see why it couldnt be the same for BAGSDs. I agree it's Good to Talk but To Do is far more productive !!

OR BETTER STILL SUE

IF THE COMMITTEE DONT AGREE WITH THE VOTE ! THREATEN TO RESIGN & BRING THEM INTO LINE

Sue B

by Sue B on 13 April 2010 - 12:04

No Fear (who really is fearful because they fail to leave their name) , Did you mean the Committee or the Membership? If the membership believe in what they want is the right way forward then they should vote for that no matter what anyone on a committee says!! Its called HAVING THE COURAGE OF YOUR OWN CONVICTIONS!! Something NO FEAR you undoubtedly lack, since you come on here as an anonymous entity. Therefore any committee informing the members they would have to resign if certain decisions were made should have no effect on the way they vote whatsoever, though it would give them ample notice to provide the club with an alternative committee rather than giving no warning at all and thus leaving the club completely Committeeless at the end of an AGM. To me that would show a total lack of responsibility or respect for the Club and its members. Imagine saying nothing then all the committee walking out en-bloc if a vote didnt go their way, leaving the membership in total shock and dissaray. This might be the prefered action of some, but it after careful discussion it wasnt the way we wanted to go. If the members wanted to vote one way, then they had every right to be given prior chance to gather together an alternative committee.

Whoever you are No Fear, if only BAGSD made it that simple to get rid of its lying, cheating EC. At least our Committee told the Members the Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth, I lie straight in my bed when I sleep at night, do you? lol
