Well yours doesn't look too bad at all, but I really have to disagree!

Well, if we're going to talk personal dogs here...this guy will always be my heart dog!

As you can see, he's never going to win any prizes for conformation (though he does have a very nice head) but he's the guy that likely saved my life one night when I fell into a hole, and couldn't get out. He's also the one who licked the tears and sweat off my face as I dug the grave for my previous GSD, the one I'd had for 14 1/2 years. He's my hearing ear dog, my protector and my friend.

He was a rescue, and has no pedigree. At 9 years, he's starting to show his age, but when I put the tracking harness on him recently after more than a year away from tracking, he acted like there had never been an interruption. Two days ago (second time out) he did a track that had been aged 30 minutes, no food, and two corners, with absolute nose-down precision. There was only a wee bit of hesitation on one of the corners when he lost the scent briefly.

" Did someone miss the memo that explained that feet and TOES were meant to make contact with the ground and not hocks?"

Please, a bodybuilder will pose in a certain way but this does not mean he is muscle bound or will work in this way. (That most BBer will not be lineman is another story, but they look better than a lineman.)

An Am GSD will be stacked in a certain way but not trot in that way.

The Am line has very good movement, in general.

"Good" is a very relative and subjective term.

I like a lot of dogs but have only worked very few.

This is one of them.  He is a warrior and has "bad ass" emblazoned on his heart.

He loves the battle and has a nice hard edge to him.  Not my dog but our head trainers.

I like him, too. I liked him the first moment I met him. Nothing special in terms of looks, but I even liked THAT about him- just a nice old school kind of GSD. Nice looking- don't get me wrong, but not one of the types that make women drool. He's SchH2 now, right? Didn't he get that at the same time you became a certified helper?

Here's another pic of him I took.

Yeah Jen, he is a Sch2 right now.  I think he is almost 3 years old now.  And yeah i think i got certified right around that time.

He is a handsome dog but yeah if you just saw him you wouldn't think he was too special.  Ronnie keeps saying the helpers at

the trials ,that don't know him, will crap in their pants 'cause he outs right underneath your groin in a platz and he will let them know he is for real.

I admit he makes me nervous when he does it to me, i just back up so i can do the re-attack easier.  But he wears all of the helpers at the club out very quickly, he is just

so powerful and fights you.  i work out mainly so i don't get made into his bitch when we train.

So, what is the dog's name?

I don't remember, lol. Nadeem should know it though.

I asked when I met him "How is he bred?"

I got "Who cares?" in reply. To which I commented that when they run out of dogs like that, THEY will care. I tried to find out his ped, to no avail. I could harass Ronnie for it again and post back. Nice dog all around. Perfect size, too, imo.
