Well the choices ended up more even than I thought. #2 had a vote or two more than #1, but I thought it would be a bigger margin. I would like a dog somewhere in the middle of the two, myself, but if I had to pick, it would be #2. Even for sport. Probably not score a 300, but if I was worried about that, I would go out and get a dog somewhere in the middle of these two dogs.------------------------------------------------------- on a side note, if you were to generalize and look at a breed as a whole, what breeds do these descriptions fit the most? I know any dog could fit these descriptions, but thinking about #1 made me think of a particular breed. Same with #2.

So you are saying you would prefer a Dutch shepherd? :)

Both dogs are mediocre......

Based on my experience and intentions.

I would choose to find better dogs to
choose from..

Here is an example of what I mean....
This dog is very high in prey and defence,
And his civil drive is off the hook....but
He still maintains a good mind with all
that going on.....

Azar du Clos Champcheny .......

Max, it was a hypothetical question and I said you have to choose one of the two. I was wrong when I said there were no wrong answers. I wasn't asking for an example of an all around great dog. I just posted that I would get a different dog if I was chasing wood. But thanks for playing, Max. I just wanted to see which way most would lean and it ended up being pretty close. But I gotta hand it to you. Your copy and paste abilities are excellent. I'd work that Malinois any day.

I love pictures!! I am not picking on you, but sometimes
you need to break it down so people can understand what
you are talking about. I choose dogs that would be too much
dog for most people and soften them with Belgium Ring
technique's..This what Bart Bellon has shown Jogi Zank
with his dog ... Eric vom Sportpark . World Champion.

Max, I thought I did. I even said that if you bought a pup and he ended up like #1 or #2, which would you prefer? I didn't think it as that complicated, but I agree with you. I would rather have a dog that has more than enough.

I think most people in sport would like to have their pup grow into Eric, but that doesn't happen and many people stick with their dog if they're not trying to win a Major event.

People in police, military, or anything else would love
to see their dog grow up to be an Eric......

My baby girls  have play drive ....something that does
not get a lot of post but it should......But their game face you
would not believe, unless you saw it for yourself. They are bred
on the 2 best bloodlines from the Netherlands and Germany.
And  their father was French / Belgium. I love them too much.
But I play and work them....They lack nothing, they only need
good stewardship. My Nina and Uttie...Heart breakers and life takers.
