PL, (first video) I like that you presented to the dog a realistic training excersise (in scenario and environment -ie not a training field where the dog associates it with bitework), one who has a PPD for liability reasons should not be itchy to get the dog bite in a real PPD situation (even though I'd like to see that dog bite) and what people who train in this venue may fantasize about lol...but, very good to show the dog such a situation that would most likely happen (without equipment) should the dog be needed for real - Aggression, no bite, threat runs away, dog is turned off.
My bf handled 2 Police K9's and never had a real bite. Many close calls, and call-offs...but all gave up. He had many situations where I would be extremely tempted to let the dog engage myself, but I commend his conservative outlook on the big picutre. The dogs primary function was scent detection (human scent), the dogs bitework was obviously worked in training...but they incorporated give ups and call offs to acclimate the dog to all possible scenarios.
The video is very good training, it IS "civil work", I am not doubting it is a "civil dog" but personally would like to see more video of the same dog doing bitework (maybe the same scenario with the decoy picking up the bat and moving toward the handler). I have seen dogs who's bark is wose than his bite...seen plenty of PPD's and PSD's who's bark was ferocious but their bitework was so lackluster you couldn't give them to me for free....so would just want to satisfy my curiosity...certainly not doubting the dog or the training, the video and training is great, and I've seen enough of your videos to be confident this dog and his training is not "incomplete". Not calling out or challenging you to prove anything...like I said just personal curiosity and if it's nice...my entertainment lol.

M49..
As soon as I am done with my video....
you will konw everything it takes 20-30 years
to know....Until than you will have work
at it...It would be funny to tell someone with
any amount of time in training working dogs,
they don't know what civil drive means.
The people who don't know anything better understand
the people with 5-10 years who think they know everything.

I thought it was a zone.

It is a zone.....what does it mean fell-off-her...???

This is the big question?
Just like Prazak Pozna.
but nothing to pull me away from my morning coffee and news paper.

It would take 30 years for you to figure out, Fell-off-her is a state of mind and can't be explained in simple terms. I wouldn't know where to start, you must follow the path to enlightenment before you can drink from the cup of knowledge.

either that or I would have to fall off her...I have not done that yet.

Max,
That's because your not doing it right.

The willingness and concerted control between canine and man as partners, to engage in a bloody battle where to win means everything and to lose is oblivion? Beats me. I guess am one of those who don't understand anything better.
Not for lack of trying though. I suppose I'm doomed to be 6 feet under before I figure it out.
