I'm not a "guru", but I like your dog. The only issue I see being his size/weight and its potential future effect on his joints as he grows older. Granted, I once had a 128# female that was huge and she did fine up to her last day. Enjoy your dog.

Thank you, Charlie.
128# female???? Wow.
Caleb is typically just under 100...but he's not really that big compared to even V rated dogs I have seen. He is definitely big, and I would say he's oversized and definitely of a heavier build, for sure, but honestly I have seen dogs his size only weigh 80-85lbs. I have measured him between 26-27"...certainly not an "official" measurement (and part of the reason I'd like to have him surveyed).
I worry about his joints because of how he acts- someone must've told him he was a Jack Russell or a Malinois when it comes to agility, but he's old enough now that I think I would've seen signs if his body was going to break down prematurely due to his size. I re-xrayed his hips just a couple months ago and was pleasantly shocked at the lack of arthritis. I think at this point, whatever I see down the road will be just typical old age symptoms and not a reflection of his size.

Well, she really should have been about 100-105 at working weight, but she was a rescued dog (had been heart worm positive and found roaming the countryside 20# underweight) and she liked her treats... I got her as a pet and no other reason, so spoiling her a bit was not a big deal. My favorite things about her size was that I didn't have to bend in the least to pet her and whomever had owned her spent a bit of money in training her. She was a straight backed girl and she was very well proportioned and did not hint at her size until she got within 10 to 15 meters. If you want, I can PM you a picture of her.
Like I said, the issue is only potential and it may not materialize.

I'd love to see a picture. I wonder how close they are in size, actually, if her working weight should've been 100-105. I keep Caleb pretty skinny...if he were a pet in the average American home, he could easily be 115+.

I'll send it later today from home.
