I'm thinkin' you're neither really young or really old to be needing diapers, so you must be having a litter!

Rocky, I wasn't saying anyone's been mean to me...Well, there are a few, but I'm a grown up, and I can handle the words, as well as tossing a few back of my own now and again. The forum here just has more than its fair share of loons and losers, that make being here a bore at best.

OK, Jenni, you've talked me into it..I'll go see if I can dig up a pic of me to put on the profile, provided I can find one somewhere.  But I can't promise that I'll visit all that often...Today is one of my rare breaks from the grind.

Jenni.. Forget about charging anything for members. Just try to get as many people online as you can and sell advertising through Google and their Adwords, like Olli does. He's making a shitload of money on ads and clicks. You need content, though. That's what the pedigreedatabase is all about. The content and services (re pedigrees) is the draw for the crowds.

I think you have to put up with some trolls and scammers. It just goes with the territory. If you tried to police that, it would become a full time job. You wouldn't want that.. big burden!

I would not particularly want to put my face and personal information out there. Why? In a dating section, OK.. Maybe. But, people can exchange that themselves, if they want. There's already a bunch of Nigerian type scams on this site, where they're doing all kinds of stuff. Give them a picture and more information and that's just more ammo for them to use. They might be able to photoshop your picture onto an ID, or into a vacation scene. I was contacted from a friend's email addy that someone had hacked, and the rascal was asking me to wire them money, pretending to be my friend, stranded in London after having their passport and money stolen. I knew darned well she hadn't gone anywhere NEAR London and I called her to confirm, but if her picture was photoshopped into a scene in London, I might believe it.

There are SO many people out there with strange agendas, and once you put your stuff out on the internet, you can't take it back.. Too many sites have been hacked and exploited by creeps. Privacy and anonymity are a GOOD thing, in my opinion. Anyway.. It should be up to the person to decide, shouldn't it? Rules just run people off..

Jenni, I did visit the site and it's a good start. I did notice that the pages are loading very slow. If you are using your own server, you may want to get a faster one (?). If you are using your own server, be very careful about security. It's a lot of work to do that job. This is why most people just pay for server space on Yahoo or Godaddy or whatever. If you're just starting out it's not expensive, anyway, and a lot of features are already built in, so you don't have to hassle with all of that setup and maintenance. I know Yahoo has a weblog feature and I think most of the webhosting companies do, now. My Yahoo account is under $20 per month and allows me to even host sub accounts, plenty of bandwidth.
