Good reading...and it stayed relatively civil so far  LOL I have really enjoyed reading it and learning from it. I appreciate the different points of view.

Keith wote:
"Actually, what would be wonderful would be if Americans had a sense of civic responsibility and were even remotely as concerned with the overall welfare of our society as they are about their own personal, selfish agendas."............

"It would be wonderful if we had the same sense of civic responsibility and sometimes took the greater good into consideration but clearly we do not. When people in a society will not do what is necessary to insure peaceful coexistence on their own, it has to be mandated."

You put it better than I tried to, thank you.
I would love to be trusted in my own country to be able to breed using my own good judgement rather than have the government dictate to me what I can and cannot breed, but too many people are taking advantage of their rights, and before we know it, "rights" become "priveldges"

Yes, legislate CRIMINAL behavior. That's what our laws are supposed to do, punish criminal, not save us from ourselves.

Keith Grossman
If pet stores are not permitted to sell animals by law, it makes doing so criminal behavior. This really isn't that hard to understand.
Kieth the problem is that selling a dog by pet store is not a crime same as it is not a crime to sell milk. It is immoral to generate crimes by simply  passing legislations = VICTIMLESS CRIME.
Legislation should address a moral wrong doing and not to create a wrong doing by passing a law.
If the government would really care then they would  spend their effort on punishing deplorable conditions of puppy mills that would help the dogs and would not play into Animal rights Nazis hands.

Too many people are getting used to the comfort of the government making our decisions for us.  It scares me thinking what the next generation will bring, having grown up with it!  They don't understand what has already been lost.

Keith,

You have proven yourself to be a hack, and I have proven myself to be a careless punctuator.  Your power of reason is still in serious doubt, as is your credibility.
