Have to get my 2 cents in this one.
I have seen both Gabe and Boy. They are handsome dogs.
There is always a controversay about show vs working lines. Once again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Do these dogs have a chance at the Sieger Show? I hope so, but I doubt it. It is like judging apples and oranges.
And there is nothing wrong with either.
The working lines are mainly sable, smaller boned compared to the black and red, larger boned show dogs.
It is almost like the American dogs vs the German dogs - same breed but oh so different.
The judge will judge to the standard (and what HE/SHE likes)and who is handling. Politics - you betcha. But at least it is a fun day with some nice people and great dogs to look at. Take it for what it is - A DOG SHOW - and have FUN!

He reminds me of a tiger's eye stone with his color. The woman that introduced me to the joys of the GSD when I was 17 would have loved him, color structure everything and she bred Am lines, stopped in the late '70s becasue she could not ethically breed dogs to conform to what was winning in the AKC show ring knowing the negative affects of excessive angulation on the ability of the dog to work. I wish she were still alive to see Boy, she loved the sables.

Did SV Federal Breed Warden Reihardt Meyer not state that starting this show season 2009.
That GSD with pronounced rear angulation and loose hocks will be placed at the end of their classes, along with over-sized dogs

"Deejay's Owner,
You should maybe look in to Hans-Joachim Dux's background a little more. He is very pro-working lines. Probably one of the better judges to show under if you have a working line dog. His start in GSD's was with working lines."

Funny how things play out!!
11 VA Dogs, & Boy von Zorra at the back of the line with Bac von der Eichendorfschule in the second ring.

Deejays owner,
I also find it "interesting" that 3 weeks ago Boy v Zorra placed ahead of/beat Titan v Mittelwest, Boy was V2 and Titan was V3 or V4. Now come the sieger show and Titan is VA2 while Boy is V23, is this to say that Boy is truely VA quality if just 3 weeks ago he was judged to be a better quality dog than the VA2 dog or is it that Titan is truely only V24 quality?!? Gee, I wonder if money changed hands at the sieger show or some other favor was performed to buy Titans placing.
