Two Moons

by Two Moons on 01 April 2009 - 04:04

Yeah but I also drove a Corvair for a short time, Ralph called them rolling coffins.
I think our pinto was a 74, I remember the recall letter after we had gotten rid of the car.
I remember when cars were made of steel, not tin.   I saw a Desoto once go head on with a 62 Vet , the desoto lost a headlight ring, and the Vet was in pieces the size of a pizza.   All drunk two of the three in the Vet died, the third was left to a wheel chair.
Your never really safe at any kind of speed in a car.

Two Moons, I am sure she would settle for any jeep at this time as she is still in college and not earning $$ yet. She was aware of this thread, but has NO idea that I posted that big ole picture of her and that I managed to post it more than once! LOL Oh well. Where do you live? I do not know what it would take to ship, but I have a scanner/printer sitting, unused and have been trying to figure out how to dispose of it appropriately without contaminating the environment. I had a corvair. I had it restored and loved it. (until my shepherd got bored one day and chewed the seat out of it). It got the best gas mileage ever. If they made cars with that kind of fuel economy...well that is another topic! Sunsilver, I love those pictures. I am a big fan of that conformation in a Friesian!

Davren,
I'm in southern Indiana, I have a built in 5x7 scanner on an old HP but haven't been able to network the old one with my new computer yet.   I threw away an old table top scanner a year ago it was a piece of junk and wouldn't connect to my new computer anyway.   Its just that I have so many old prints I wish I could share.
My sons not making any honest money right now either, the foundry he worked at had major cutbacks, auto related.
My other younger sons in school in Evansville USI, first year and struggling with it.  He can't figure out what he wants to do I think.

LOL. Moons, how old is your son? I'm afraid that Davren's daughter, while very pretty, is too young for him. You'd better go ahead and send him my way.  I do, however, have the perfect solution for all of us.

We send the kid to the girl, Moon's son comes to my place, Moons can visit and ride my Walker, and they can both drive my car if I don't sell it. See? How's that for being a team player?

THIS is my baby:

KC: I'll pm you about my colt.

This is my Qh/Cob, who really is for sale. Would he work instead of a Jeep Wrangler? He's much safer, especially if you've been drinking. Strong as an ox; he could carry her and a friend or two home from the bar.

Two Moons

Nice horse but not my style,
I need a two dollar brush jumper who can take to the path less traveled.   Must not fear snakes or rocky ledges. Must be a tough hide to bust through the briars and cockel burs, jump fences as I trespass across the national forest.
They give you a ticket here for getting off the designated horse path in the forest and I need something that can evade the gamie on his four wheeler.   Must not be gun shy or skiddish around traffic as I cross roads and highways.

My boys still thinking it over, the car or the girl, tough choice....:)
The boys are 19 and 24 by the way.
Speaking for myself, a woman is never too young, depending on local and state laws...!

As for driving the Vet,  it would be worth shoveling out a few stalls,  I keep the manure....lol   for my garden.

Davren you didn't say where you were from.   Near or far?

Moons.

Before this site locked up my computer today,
the thread was on the first page.
Bump.

Moons,  I replied and my post is gone! ARGH.

The one horse was for the girl, not for you, LOL, instead of a Jeep. Safer transportation for a college kid. You grew up w/Walkers, huh? What did you do w/them?

Your son is younger than I thought. I'm too old, so I guess the girl can have him. <sigh>  And the horse. I guess I'll just carry on w/my early midlife crisis and maybe keep the car. Life's a bitch.

Don't underestimate the speed of my TWH; that horse is QUICK. The Cob would stop when the cop asked him to, and he's probably ask for a ride back. He doesn't like to move quite so fast. He'd be no match for a 4 wheeler, but the TWH sure would. He has only one gear, and it's 6th.

Tell your son to always pick the car; girls are way too much trouble. I know this firsthand.

Two Moons, I am in MO, near St. Louis. I sent you a PM, but I guess it did not go through. I think you need a jumping mule outfitted with a rifle scabbard on the saddle! I must admit that I am guilty of the occasional trespass in the state parks and forests. Jenni, the son might not be too young. My daughters are 23, 20, 17, and a son-14. I am sure we could swap something out here and all be happy. I know, Let's send all the kids to one farm and all the adults live on another with the horses, cars, guns, 4-wheelers and dogs. Let the kids figure out how to survive. We could take bets, kind of like a survivor show. About the "women never too young depending on state laws", well, lets not even go there!! LOL

Its been a busy day for all,
The beginning of a new month, and the arrival of the full pink moon on the ninth.
Time to move on, prepare for whats to come.
I hope everyone weathered the storm without injury beyond a reboot.
I'll burn one for us all.

I have a 66' Ford Falcon and LOVE that car. I sold my Thoroughbred 7 years ago, dumbest thing I've done to date. Ditched the boyfriend 5 years ago, took his dog and split.

I'll have to get pics of my car tomorrow. I love that thing, my dad and I rebuilt it from the ground up!

Great looking cars and horses.

Moons- I thought you were a woman.
