Red sable indeed. The nose alone is a disqualifying fault.
Nice pet.
$2500?  TILT.

There is a list as long as our arms of what dogs pedigrees  carry these Off colors .I'm sure all our bloodlines carry them.If we were to try to eliminate them we would all lose breeding stock. It is a fact we are already backed into a corner on available bloodlines. Did I read the phrase bottle necking.

That  list that has been posted over and over on this forum is OLD!!  NONE, or very few,  of the dogs currently being  bred extensively are on it.  The list would  have to be updated with new information to be of any real use, now.   That would mean that breeders would have to be  a bit more open with the pedigrees of the pups they produce that are blue or liver, so people can ascertain which dogs in the current gene pools produce it.    As the people producing blues, even while claiming to be so proud of their breedings, refuse to answer questions about the pedigrees, we are obviously not going to be able to update that information any time soon.

I guess it is just that breeders think it is shameful, or something to have produced a blue or a liver, regardless of what they may publicly state to the contrary.

I couldn't resist sending the question of the "light red sable" to a few definitive experts in the fatherland.
It'll be interesting to read their comments. I did not include info as to the pup's name, breeder, etc.
Cute little guy, but he definitely doesn't look like a GSD.

 Shelley,

You will let us know their responses?   Chris indicates that they are already discussing this in Germany, unless I misunderstood her post.  So, wanna bet this page comes down, or is amended in the next several hours?

Really, what was he thinking?????

Well we answered the question on our blood lines for the blues.Thank goodness we never had a liver ,I could jinks myself even speaking the word liver.I will say the first dog that had our litter of blues was promptly spayed as it was my female.I gave my sister one .she was the only person to get the AKC  with her dog. ALL  THE OTHER BLUES WERE SOLD WITH OUT REGISTRATION OF ANY KIND AND TO BE SPAYED AND NEUTERED. ALL BLUES SHE SELLS ARE SOLD WITHOUT REGISTRATION AND TO PET HOMES ON SPAY AND NUETER MANDATORY CONTRACTS. As a matter of fact most if not all her pups are sold as pets with a spay neuter contract.

Do you think this person knows they are selling a liver?  They've dropped the price for this "rare" blue eyed pup from $1500 to $1200.

Holy cow! I cannot believe someone THAT well known, and such an "expert" in all aspects of our breed would be so bold as to charge $2500 for a liver puppy and lie about it in the advertising!! I have read the previous posts on his kennel and reputation, but always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. All I can say is WOW.

Certainly crap happens when you breed, and we are always learning, but WTF? It really angers me that someone would take advantage of a buyer who did not know better to THAT degree.

If this happened to me,  "yikes! what is that in my whelping box?" I would love it and nurture it just like the other puppies, and it would be a free puppy with no papers, not even limited, nope, zip, nada, none until proof of spay or nueter.

Either Kraftwerk is really dumb, or he has a big set of kahunas......
