Great article Sue. Pretty much sums it up. Bitch all you want about the "control" measures but when they eat your pets, you'll be the first in the neighborhood, signing up for this guy to make it out your way.

Most of the time, you don't have to train a donkey or a mule to be a "guard animal." Most of them are pasture protectors and do a great job at chasing off dogs running rampant in the pasture, etc. However, not ALL donkeys and mules can be "guard animals." It just happens to be that some of them are :)

I used to shoot yotes often where i lived till one day i watched one thru a scope in a field about 175 yards out he must of been hunting a mouse under the snow creeping and diving creeping and diving into the snow I watched him for about a half hour then he trouted away. After that unless they were up around my house which happens on occasion when i have a female inheat i don,t hunt them any longer maybe i,m just becoming a tree hugger or maybe i figure if i,m here there here and as long as we respect each other live and let live
