Trailrider, it's not easy to only buy American made products. Lowes, Home Depot, Penney, Target, even the local True Value hardware store - mostly imported merchandise.  Try to find footwear made in the US.  I really love the new JC Penney "American Life" (or something similar) line. It's all made in China. I won't be wearing any of it . There are web sites that list and sell Am made products. It's all our own faults for only caring about cheap.

Glad to hear that Naya has found a good home. So sad. Unless you've been there, done this it's hard to understand how heartbreaking it can be. At one time I had to cut way back on my dogs, so  placed the better dogs and kept only the pets.  Four of them were really great dogs. It still hurts to think about it.

I agree with you too Blitzen, as my job is slowly going to China

My company is offering a voluntary severance deal that I am looking at taking. I've been there for 20 yrs if you count this year. I am going to be looking at going to college, and seeing what I can make of my life now. Michigan is going through a lot of foreclosures and loss of jobs, factory's moving to China, etc. It's not the best state to live in right now. I too have come close to losing my house and dog's. Hopefully it will pick up, but I doubt that it will be anytime soon.

I truly wish Krista and her family the best!!!

And yes Naya is in a wonderful home, I know the people, very good people!!!!

Kelly, whether they know it or not, almost everyone in this country is in jeopardy of losing their income to foreign competition. At one time Bethlehem Steel was the big employer in this area; now blocks and blocks of their former manufacturing factories sit empty. We even named the town Steelton,  now it should be called Drugton.  We need to awake from our coma and take a look at where this economy is heading. What are we thinking by continuing to buy imported cars and other merchandise? It's not impossible to buy Am made products, some may have imported parts, but buying something assembled here made by Amercian citizens has got to help the economy. Toyota, Subaru, and Honda provide good jobs in the US for our citizens, but the profits go back to Asia.  The lesser of the 2 evils I suppose.  I think that Honda is moving all its motorcycle manufacturing to Asia. I hear the Candians and Aussies  are in a similar situation, unable to find domestic products. Michigan is unfortunately taking the biggest hit right now due to the auto industry, but no state is immune. Getting a better education sounds like a wise move - Good luck with that.

I am sorry when anyone has to give up their dogs. For most of us they are our families and parting with one is heartwrenching. When Krista gets back on her feet, I'm hoping that a GSD breeder/s will be generous enough to help her get another start in the breed.

Blitzen, wouldn't that be nice? Do you think there is a breeder out there with a heart that big? What a wonderful show of generousity and good will. If I were breeding again, I would do that for her, IF she likes DDR dogs. I have given puppies to families that have lost dogs before. I don't breed for the money, cuz Lord knows I don't make much, if any, profit on the litter, I breed for the love of the breed and to produce the best dogs possible. I only breed one litter a year but next year I will be getting ready to graduate with my BA in Business and won't have time for a litter. But who knows? Maybe there are other breeders out there that would be happy to give Krista's family a new puppy when she is ready.

Naya's Mom

Thank you all so very much, both your posts, and emails/PM's have been very comforting.

Another one went home today, my first breeding dog. Now I only have her son, Dakoda, and Sierra and Jazz.

Considering I started out like this:

Naya
Danica

Phoenix
Dakoda
Sierra
Jazz
Raina
Xena

Almost my whole pack is gone. To good homes, but none-the-less, still very much a terrible, terrible, nightmare, from which I wish to wake up, and find them all in my arms again...

Anyway, thank you all again, so very much, your support and love are appreciated beyond words. Even though I haven't met a single one of you in person, you all feel very much like my family, and I need that right now. Thank you

When you are back on your feet and are ready again to be in the breed, you keep my name and email address and I'll make sure you have a puppy with your name on it.   Just come get him or her.   I know you will be ok and you'll survive this, but I also know how hard it is.

My Grandmother used to tell me "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" and they lived through the depression.  Just keep your prayers and keep you friends and family close.

Let me know when you are ready.

 True Karma.  Remember Jack!

The puppy from the 2 dogs you should have never bred.  The puppy with so many defects, but you had an answer for everything for a green person like me.  You thought yourself so slick and sly, a true con artist.

 You reap what you sow!

Shame on you for what you put  all 10 of those puppies in the litter through,  I am so glad I got to see the day you were made to pay for your MISTAKE.

Jack will never be forgotten.

I will always love you little guy.      Jack 10 months old

WTF?????

That's what I said at first animules.  Did a little research and it seems her Jack was from Malinda's kennel.  I still do not know why she attacked Kristen on a thread about her dogs.

Some people still seem to have the full moon syndrome going on.
