smartguy.........Congrats!!! and you had MY alltime fav judge! We had Ernest about 14-15 years ago at our trial & we all just loved him. But....you are not going to agree w/ everyone all the time, right? :) I am really happy for you and your pup! Hope you bought him a nice big steak for his reward <G>
Yellowrose.......We have portable kennels here sold thru the feed store that are very heavy gauge....maybe not quite 9 gauge but strong enuf that I am considering one for my very determined male pit who eats his way out of everything. They are made by a company called Priefert.....sold thru Tractor Supply Company. I used 9 gauge for my two mountain lions and then used those kennels for our more destructive dogs after the lions left.

The way they are put together is horrible...not the construction we use to get and the gauge of wire is very undesireable...
I want steel bar cages but cannot afford them until Sams came up with the 10 x 10 cages but they are out in Tyler...sold out...and not online..
I put in a call to the ast mgr of Sam's Club here to ask him how do we find more of those coated steel made kennels...
I have 6 males and when I work dogs or any kinds of activities the level of my males gives my cages a work out..they love to get out if can...and when a female is in heat.....it is a must to hide the female..in the nursery so no male can find her..
That keeps most of them from exercising the right to tear out of a cyclone gauged wire kennel...my kennels are all covered with the bars of cattle wire from Tractor supply cut and tack welded on top all the way across and on concrete poured floor with a covered building canopy with lighting and fans.....under the trees . I have 4 auxillary kennels which were the two akc named kennels I purchased at Tractor supply three yrs ago and Bear pulled door apart before we got kennel number 2 up and finished....no support and poorly put together and the gauge was horribly thin.....never again...my females and males want out too bad and if they find out they can pulll apart out they come....I have 4 old old kennels from 20 yrs ago that are true 9 gauge fencing and put together with guide wires etc..My son designed new handles and closures that are kid proof and dog proof and cannot be opened by any dog and have a hole to put a lock thru....he ought to patent it but has not...he used hinges and all pieces of what you use on the kennel to design the locking devices.....and welded tubes cut to fit into the pieces to put back on the door and side bar....really not easy to explain...I am sure he could tell you in mens language...\\\ After my son redid everything no males or females have ever gotten out unless I mistakenly leave a closure undone.....
Oops gave away my bad habit....
YR the kennels here in tyler are not preifert.
