Interesting thread and some very good posts.
It’s gratifying to see that there can still be some dogs that are willing to fight rather than just dance with the decoy or as Bob McKown would say “are more than just luggage hanging on the sleeve.”
We have to identify dogs of such quality that also have good health and hips phenotype so that they be known to breeders of appropriate bitches.
Are there such dogs in North America?

I also think gator is a very nice GSD, powerfull yet in good controll, I´m curious why some thinks he is a "sportdog" and philiph not, philiph is also very nice but if gator is only one of many "sportdogs" I guess the future looks bright for the GSD.

I also agree that Gator is more than a sport dog...love his aggressive barking in the blind...

hi, I came upon this thread late. I am interested in the dog mentioned: Pike de Lupos Nero . Could not find his pedigree nor video of his work. He was used as an example of another strong working male in the competitions.
Does anyone have the links for his pedigree and/or video?
thanks,
cindyg

An example of a working Shepherd here in America: SchH1, DH (patrol certified), MR2 (possibly the only MR2 in USA). Fight drive.

It is so sad that most of you criticize the dog for a great performance, How many of you have competed in a WUSV event, how many of you have titled a dog to a Sch 3 or IPO 3? >Do you have any idea of how much work and sacrifice it is to accomplish something like that.
You criticize a 100 point protection routine in a WUSV event is absolutely ridiculous. The judge did his absolute best to judge fair, you have to all remember that you sit and watch a VIDEO, you can hit replay and find fault all day long, the Judge have a split second to observe and make Judgment over a fantastic performance. Yes he can miss some, but that depends on the angle he is observing, The helper direction of drive etc.
You should never unfairly question a Judges decision, you are not there and you did not see what he saw.
This was a great performance, by a great dog with a Judge with plenty of experience that Judged what he observed.
