What a handsome big boy, you were blessed with, from what you described
he was an all round good boy, that you could take anywhere, he did
justice to the breed.
So sorry he is gone.........
He sounds like my big white boy Kane, he's been gone since
January, people I haven't seen in some time still ask how he's
doing, like he'll always be around, they stay in your heart forever.

The worse part of it all is that I keep calling Xandor "Duke" without even thinking about it. It makes me start crying all over again. When the girls come in, I find myself waiting for the old slow man to come in the door and again I have to catch myself.
Right now trying to keep my sense of humor (and a few Xanax) are about all I can do to keep myself halfway motivated.

I am starting to call my 2 yr. old Theo, Kane,
Theo is reminding me so much of my Kane that has passed,
I wonder if we mold our dogs, without knowing, into what we want, if we can
bring out certain personalities that make us happy, I for one
find that boy dogs are less serious, and more happy go lucky
than the girl dogs.
I'm sure no other dog can fill Duke's shoes, those older dogs are so much wiser.
Always remember the fun times.
When Kane passed, we were all around him crying, and feeling sooo sad,
but then I mentioned to the kids how the cats in heaven were running for
cover!
(Kane had eaten a few cats in his day.) One was ferral & one was 16 yrs. old.....

It's so hard, my sincerest condolences go out to you. Duke is up there on the bridge, watching you, tail slowly wagging, waiting for the day when he will be at your side once more. jo
