The protection phase of dogsport can be 'harder' than the SchH exams.  The helper tries to run the dog with every exercise.  You have to greet the helper and shake hands,   He then tries to run your dog from the field.  After 3 or 4 different exercises demonstrating alert, protection and control, you have to REGREET this person and shake his hand.

On and Off switch is what the dog HAS to have or he won't pass.  The obedience is mostly BH obedience on the lower levels and harder as you move up in titles.

LOTS OF FUN!!!  Please come to a SDA trial and watch.

I am really interested in SDA :)  There just needs to be a club closer to where I am...I read the article in Dog World written by Cheryl Carlson and I thought it sounded pretty cool.

I am starting my girl in SchH soon - and once I get some experience I want to try and make a short roadtrip to a SDA club to check it out....the training sounded outstanding from what i could tell :)  They also have a full body suit rather than just a sleeve and I *think* (but am not sure) that the dog can go after any part....sounds like a blast!
