Two Moons

by Two Moons on 01 November 2013 - 20:11

Well,
shortly after eleven last night the rain stopped and the Great Pumpkin made his appearance in my modest pumpkin patch for the first time ever.
I think.
I had quite a bit of cider and everclear last night, and this morning it was all kind of a blur.
But my pockets were full of treats, and I still smell like fermenting pumpkins, seeds are everywhere!
I think I smashed him on a rock or something, it looks bad.
Sorry Linus.

I had a feeling something like that happened to you! LOL

Smashing pumpkins is a rock band? Isn't it? I'll have to look and play something now....

Oh.... and be ready ... your Aussie boy admirer.... he needs a swift kick. Only you will do......Thumbs Up

Yale professor provides compelling argument for the legalization of recreational drugs.  I agree, and have for some time, for some of these very reasons.  Should give you pause the next time you consider your current position, if you even have one.

Interesting in the details.
Not sure what to say or not to say.
This is not unique to the Americas by the way.

No matter how you turn there is still and would always be corruption to contend with no matter what, goes with the money.

Hard to imagine though that we wouldn't be better off for the tax revenue, while disarming at least some of the violent crime associated, not to mention the cost of housing all those inmates convicted of dealing, trafficking, or consuming.

Legalizing would create revenue, but you still have a corrupt system and how much would actually reach the people.
It would create more laws and regulations but would not end most of the violence, that's the nature of the trade first and foremost.
It would take away some of the allure that draws young people in to using in the first place, and I'd much rather see pot than cocaine and opium products.
Coca leaf would be better than cocaine, opium tar would be better than heroin, and anything is better than meth.
Then you must figure the drug industry would not be very happy and would want something for their piece of the pie.
It's very complicated isn't it?
How did alcohol get by so well all these years.

All the deaths do need to stop. I see it getting too hard to tell who will be the good pot user vs. the bad pot user as all the towns in my state try to figure out how to make the new medical use legalization details something workable. So far it seems like a nightmare and most towns are rushing to ban the new facilities. I think they don't want to be caught up in some kind of mafia turf war, myself.

One of my biggest problems I see, once it starts up, is explaining what this means to kids. It doesn't say much for us adults, as we have to tie ourselves into pretzels to make any sort of explanation to them, that using medically vs. recreationally is acceptable one way and not the other!

The war on drugs can't be won, or it would have been won by now, I think. I just checked on those tunnels, pretty sophistocated! I just heard about them in the news, too...http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/major-drug-tunnel-found-us-mexico-border-20736003

How do you explain alcohol to your children?

Good V Bad pot user?
You'd have to explain that one to me..

Medical verses recreational is such a cop out......
