there's nout like folk   this vote is to see where people stand on this issue it is up to them to vote yes or no or not vote at all if someone decides not to vote that is their right as it is the right of the people who do vote, trying to badger or shame people into voting is wrong lets wait and see where it goes it is early days yet

Well stated jaymesie51.   Trying to badger, bully or shame people into voting casts doubt on the integrity of any vote to reflect the will of the people.

A ballot alone will not force change and, therefore, I sincerely hope that whoever is delegated to represent the breed to the KC will submit a plan of substance as the base for any change.  Clearly, whoever is going to repesent us cannot outline any plan on this messageboard at this time even if there is an embryo of one.

Sue, i understand your passion, and your reluctance to compromise your principals,........ but unfortunately ,and thankfully you cant break eggs with big sticks; again at the risk of repeating myself we need to be magnanimous, and conciliatory: what we dont want is to demonise people for having a different perspective, although i would like them to come out and make their views known: it's one thing having an opposing view, what we dont need is people declining to vote because they have a hidden agenda, get it out in the open, the last thing we need, is a split within a split:  that would be catastrophic for us, as well as the breed we all profess to admire.

We have a BALLOT to ascertain the views of an influential GSD group on an important issue, and it is NOT a secret ballot, there is absolutely no need or point in having a secret ballot to ascertain the viewpoint of this group of people within our breed. Anyone can draw their own conclusions as to why anyone votes one way or another, they can also draw their own conclusions as to why anyone abstains. With years of knowledge and experience many people will draw rather accurate conclusions.

My own belief is that several or more of those well known kennels are NOT voting because they are concerned as to where such ballots may lead. It is a very influencial group that are being targeted by this ballot. Can you imagine having similar ballots on several other very important issues affecting or concerning our breed? Those who assume power and influence may feel sidelined to a greater or lesser degree. Just look at the huge numbers voting YES to us pursueing SEPARATION between the GSD & Alsation.

We must see this exercise as an opportunity to illustrate very clearly the views of this very important group within our breed, and build upon it. Where we have lacked leadership and direction within our breed, this group through similar ballots can speak loudly, and we cannot be ignored, no matter what!

There is plenty of time for more people to vote, and I can alway add a DOWNLOAD &  PRINTING facility for the webpage ballot content.

Bill Owen (Patrick) I have always been an advocate of Democracy, i.e. people having a right to their OWN OPINION, even if that isnt the same as mine for thats their perogative and I am ABSOLUTELY fine with that. So please stop putting words in my mouth that I DID NOT SAY.   On the other hand I have a right to MY OPINION and within that opinion I am NOT surprised by some of the names which are missing from the list and stated the reason why. That is my opinion and I have a right to voice it, just the same as you have voiced your opinions on here in the past. I hope my opinion will be proved wrong but sadly the very fact that so many are now prepared to take from this breed without any willingness to give anything back (not even an opinion) is one of the reasons this breed is now in the state it is. 

Paul if you want to gang up on me with your mucker Bill, please do it on an issue where it is not so important for the Breed and take note in my post I did not  HAVE A GO at any individual as you to have done.  But then I dont mind standing up for the things I believe in even if it does mean taking this type of backlash from the pair of you .

Perhaps in retrospect the Ballot should have a "DON'T KNOW" or "UNDECIDED" section, then surely everyone could voice their opinion.  I can well understand those that cannot decided, afterall it is an important decision which should not be entered into lightly.
