David, Thankyou for taking on this task of Balloting the question of splitting the Breed into forming two seperate ones GSD & Alsatian.  I will be watching with interest for the addition and ommission of those who contribute and I urge all to register their vote even those who may have personal issues with certain individuals to put aside those differences, at least for the few minutes it would take to register your vote .

ON BEHALF OF A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR OUR WONDERFUL BREED/s, IT'S EXHIBITORS AND AVID ENTHUSIASTS , PLEASE DO NOT LET ANY PERSONAL DISSAGREEMENTS OR DISPUTES BE USED AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT REGISTER YOUR VOTE ON THIS VERY SERIOUS DEBATE. SO WITH A HEARTFELT PLEA MAY I NOW ASK YOU ALL TO PLEASE PRIORITISE THE BREED ABOVE YOUR OWN PERSONAL DIFFERENCES, IF ONLY FOR THE FEW MINUTES IT TAKES TO SEND IN YOUR VOTE - YOUR
DECISION ON THE FUTURE OF THIS BREED IS IMPORTANT AND MUCH NEEDED, SO PLEASE REGISTER IT.   THANK - YOU,.    (nb. you could even send it to a friend first and ask them to forward for you, as long as when forwarding they leave the delievery details of your email to them intact within the email they forwarded. I am sure that would be acceptable).

As WYGSD Secretary (see note below).
The AGM Agenda's for West Yks GSD Club had already been sent out but in my role as Secretary I had already included the KC Health directives on the Agenda as Item 6a,b & c - a) KC new Code of Ethics b)Amendments to KC Breed Standard c) Breed Health co-ordinator.  Therefore  rather than request the question of taking a members Yes / No vote on splitting the breed be done under AnyOtherBusiness,  with luck it would probably be appropriate to incorporate this withing the discussion of Agenda Item 6b. so will ALL West Yks Members reading this please take note and pass onto any members who you know may not read this. Thank You.

Regards
Sue B

The BALLOT is already proving to be an EXCELLENT window on how GSD breeders/exhibitors feel about this very important issue.

I have NO doubt those "current leaders only used to leading APATHETIC members" are scratching their heads and talking to each other (they put little in writing),  trying to think of something that will "frighten their flock" into submission,
once again!

With this BALLOT we have the opportunity of clearly showing the Kennel Club that the GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG fraternity here within Great Britain want their own identity. An identity which by any comparison with the ALSATIAN fraternity, has much to be VERY PROUD OF.

Most of us are fed up to our back teeth with problems predominently within the ALSATIAN, for example dozens & even  hundreds lines to QUADRILLE, an established EPILEPTIC, and numerous other concerns.

The proposed separation  offers only benefits to the GSD fraternity, and I feel sure will be a huge wake up call to the ALSATIAN fraternity to get their house (and dogs) in order. This can only benefit their dogs.

When sensible people carefully consider the positive benefits of a separation, I feel sure they can come to only one conclusion, and VOTE YES

I hope that those who are considering abstaining, realise that we do NOT need any split in our German Shepherd Dog fraternity. We should unite on this issue, and open the door for a much brighter future for our breed here in Great Britain.

I will also promise to DELETE my Great Britain emailing lists, so NO MORE emails from me. That's got to be an incentive to vote.

THINK ABOUT THE "COCKER SPANIEL" and the "AMERICAN COCKER SPANIEL"

Hello.
It's not very often that i find myself feeling sorry for David Payne ( he's big enough to look after himself, so he does not need it ) but i feel all his hard work in bringing this debate to the fore, is being flung right back in his face.  Whilst i applaud my fellow enthusiasts for putting pen to paper ( so to speak ) but quite frankly i'm disappointed and rather surprised at the kennels who have remained silent on this issue: my respect  and admiration for some of these kennels is well known, with many of them fabulous, fabulous breeders and exhibitors, who's input would be greatly appreciated, i would be interested in their opinions even if they  are diametrically opposed to my own.

I would urge them to enter the debate, even if they feel it's futile, i say it isn't , because without their views being explored, we cannot make any progress, I have said many times that we are only the custodians of this great breed, perhaps now is the time for us to leave a legacy worth having.

   Regards as always.

Paulie : "but quite frankly i'm disappointed and rather surprised at the kennels who have remained silent on this issue: "

Hi Paul, I have to say the only thing that surprises me about your astute observation above is that you ARE surprised by this, on the other hand I CERTAINLY AM NOT, although I do share in your disappointment, my disappointment in many of the current custodions of our breed is simply that they CARE MORE about WINNING than the BREED, God Forbid they should say SOMETHING,  ANYTHING that may upset their KUDOS rating or PRECIOUS  IMAGE with others, especially the 'special' relationship many have with some judges from both sides of the camp.
God Forbid they might actually REVEAL they have an OPINION which might differ from those they need to impress, after all how can they express a public opinion then still get away with "LEANING WHICHEVER WAY THE WINDS BLOWING"?
My, my as that would cease to serve their purpose, that necessity and need to BE LOVED BY EVERYONE, letting them all know which way their wind was actually blowing wouldnt do at all. NO, NO as far as WIND is concerned they prefer to remain THE QUIET but DEADLY VARIETY, that way if someone gets a wiff there is a stink in the pile, they can always blame it on somebody else.

Best Regards,
Sue B   OF THE TELL IT AS IT IS VARIETY......

YUP !!!

And the most wonderful thing about this BALLOTT is the very fact that NOW EVERYBODY CAN SEE just exactly WHO THEY ARE, just in case (like me) they didnt KNOW THEM ALREADY.!!

GO ON - MAKE MY DAY - TAKE A VOTE AND PROVE ME WRONG

Sue B
