Melba very nice dog. You could make her look even better if she had not over stretched her back leg and the hock was straight.
Just Gorgeous

Dont see the obvious bulk in the back leg and way too small female for my liking. I personally don't like to see a GSD looking too " ratty ". But I do appreciate that youre posting a photo and thank you.
And like I said the "obvious bulk" comes from the rear leg being repeatedly forced to explosively thrust the entire body mass from an inert position ( ie the entire body mass ) , and of course supported by good diet. Infact this identical principle is used for " bulking " various body parts in the art of body building. Later on as competition approaches the body builder diets and engaged in low intensity high reps for " cutting" or ripping as it is called. There is zero reason to dispute why the same process/product would not occur in a dog whose body( like man ) is alos based on mamalian physiology.

Cutaway
He is ripped ( extreme cuts ) with good enough bulk. From just a cursory observation he could be Mal mixed with one of bully breeds. Many of the bully breeds have a natural genetic predisposition for muscularity that can be enhanced by diet and exercise. In fact there is a whole industry producing supplements like anabolols ( anabolic precursors) MCTs , etc for dogs.

Her rear legs are most definitely well muscled.
Joan, her sire is Enyo vom Graftental. No idea who her dam was. Drives weren't what I wanted so I gave her back to the breeder.

"Substantial presence" fat Lolol
Here's a "substantial " 90lb female, also fat. (Don't worry, I've trimmed her down to about 72!)
