looking at the pedigrees of von bismack one cannot deny he is bringing some interesting dogs/lines together as I see much dogs there I love to find in a pedigree and even when titled, not the most looked for sporty dogs, Lump, Vox, Manto, Atilla, Asko, all dogs or type of dogs that sport breeders like to use once in so many generations to spice up the stuff again


having that said there can be such thing as too much, same as some dogs today are all prey and nothing else, their is opposite extreme as well, but I can imagine some of this breeders stock can be very interesting for breeding for both LE and sport

Which just proves a good sport dog is good for LEO...they are the same breed stock according to duke.

Ha ha.....I train a 3 year old Atilia son that I started at 4 months and he is now 3 years. When the dog was 4 months I told the owner he had a beast, but because the dog had little prey and only showed very limited interest in rag work, ( and the owner reads a lot of forums and looks at a lot of videos), he just didn't see it. At around 10 months he took dog to national level trainer and the trainer didn't think much of dog,( at 10 months there was not intensity in the dog in play/prey work, I didn't know he took the dog to this trainer then as I had told the owner we won't even start doing bitework with this dog until 14-18 months and we will channel him through defense). We started him around 16 months, which was good because by then his on/off leash obedience was very very good. Today, (3 years) this dog is absolute beast, I mean hematomas every time you work him in jacket, even with neoprene. Muzzlework, no problem. Crushing grips and when I whack him on the bite he just compresses harder. Big time fight in this dog and excellent obedience...the kinda dog that if you are doing regular routine bitework he outs very nicely, BUT let you wack him really hard on the bite....he intensifies and is not apt to out. In a suit, it becomes personal as he wants to feel that flesh then he tries to crush the bone. Some of you know what I am talking about, this isn't stuff that a video can usually show especially with bitebar in sleeve.
A very very nice dog.....btw, he took the dog back to national level trainer at about thirty months and the trainer asked him if he was sure this was the same 10 month old pup he had. He then said he is really really strong dog!...Yep, he was strong at 4 months in my eyes.

Im working with a pup at the moment that I breed from a bitch I bought in Romania. 10 months very close to what Gustav has described .absolute crushing grips that u can barely get your arm out of the sleeve .and when u wack him on the bite his power and grip becomes even stronger it like a rebite without moving very low rag first time I brought him on the field he done absolutely nothing walked of hiding my face . Everyone said he was not worth a shite . But I seen aggression in him before and I said he was like his mother and boom this do is turning into a beats.

To me, he is playing with puppy. I play with my own dogs in a similar way. Dog comes in snarky face, spin dog, little pinch on the flank, dog spins more snarky face. I see nothing here that my own dogs/Puppies don't do. Body language is relaxed because they're comfortable with that person. Likely the breeder.

I have seen only 1 truly nasty, dominant as fu** puppy at 6-8 weeks, and that was a Malinois. Sure, I've had many confident, dominant pups over the years, (many are k9s, present and retired) but this guy was different.

Ps. I don't make it a habit of creating conflict in my puppies like this. Dogs aren't allowed to bite the handler!

Chaz lol u can check a few out under my profile pedigrees created..not bashing sport dogs , Iam sure  There's a few good/real sport dogs out there that can work .. such dux ja na ka , quardes and a few more , anything coming out of tiekerhook kennels , but that's cause these guys breed for it and won't accept a dog if it doesn't have it .. personally I don't care for a dog without some sort of food aggression , handler aggression , dog aggression and Dominance, I just wouldn't want it because those same so called unwanted traits ( sport world ) make great working dogs , a real dog .. not some howling prey joke with no backbone 

Shawni I see y you have a Marco son. I heard from a few respected folks that Marco produces really good working dogs.

I don´t think the pup is "playing", although like Melba I believe the pup feels more comfortable because it´s the breeder, and the pup is "used" to this kind of "play" ( contradicting, I know, but I am not able to find better words ).
I like the pup, a lot of drive, a lot of courage, really pissed off, not giving up, for a puppy able to stay focussed for a long time although there is no direct "win".
Trained? For sure
Every puppy able to do so? For sure not

Would I do this with a pup?
In case I´d be the breeder trying to sell - yes
As the later owner - no
