ROFL, Hundmutter, but those links were not in answer to Reliya's question.
I just felt that pro-ban voices are not being adequately represented here in this thread, as Susie (and now you also) has decided to remain too diplomatic with her answer.
To perk up the debate, should I mention that USCA suddenly playing Debbie Zappia card was hilariously pathetic?
Carry on, please....

I will take your bait... I am guessing you dont have the full back story on why USCA defended Debbie and deff not read the letters of Germany yelling "its unfair" to have to compete agianst people who are allowed to train with Ecollars. or the open letters stating that Debbie is abusive...

Given that a lot of the Germans secretly used the e-collar, too, she and her dog simply were the best at that weekend, and she surely is no "one day wonder"...great trainer, with or without e-collar...
Swarnendu - I am too diplomatic?
I like e-collars in certain real life situations ( like hunting f.e. ).
I hate people abusing dogs, be it with their body, a stroke, a pinch, or an e-collar.
I don´t think e-collars are necessary for IPO, less points for all, so what?
I hate that I have to hide the e-collar now because of abusive, dumb people, ALTHOUGH I only make very, very seldom use of it, and always only in favour of the dog.

Stop guessing Cutaway, it has got nothing to do with what I, or anybody else know what about the whole incidence.
WUSV has proposed the ban, and they themselves have 25% of the total vote from Germany alone. Most of the countries are going to support the move, if only to avoid the backlash from their own backyard. GENERAL PEOPLE all over the world INCLUDING USA is against "SHOCKING MY BABY"!!
And, what is USCA doing? Crying foul by bringing up Zappia with the hope that all Americans will now see it as their PATRIOTIC DUTY to support a mere CLUB, showing the REST OF THE WORLD that they do not give a damn about their pets' welfare?
Susie, I was joking.

It's astonishing that Bubba hasn't yet picked up the "USCA & E-Collar manufacturers' nexus" angle of the topic. Lost his touch?

After reading and re-reading this thread, the one thing that i think we can all agree on is this. The use or exclusion of an ECollar will not make much of a difference at the end of the day. The e is not a magical remote control that all of the sudden makes a dog perform because a button is pushed. The people at the highest level of the sport will still be there. A collar doesn't make someone a good trainer just like it doesn't make a dog a 'good dog', basically an ECollar doesnt polish a turd into a diamond.
My #1 issue is that i am a child who doesnt like being told what i can do and it urks me even more to have another country (because of their laws) tell me how i can train in my country. I have come to the realization that for the most part i am just throwing a tantrum ;) I also dont like how "they" want us telling on and reporting each other to the "powers".
I think we will ALL disagree with different aspects of one anothers training and i actually like that. I like that a comment can make me think about my training philosphy make me examine and uncover holes. I like that i hear something tons of ways and one day, it finially clicks.
Thanks to all of you who are active on this forum!!!

Swarm,
You are barking up the wrong tree. UScA knows a good tool that lets people get the job done in a quicker, proofed way, than was ever possible by more people than those using only traditional methods.
It isn't cruel when used correctly. Only cruel people make it cruel for their dogs. Those people should be banned and prosecuted.
My e-fence saves my dogs lives, more so than a gate left ajar, for whatever reason.
Poking USA by mocking their patriotism isn't wise or even attempting to understand how comparing winners relates to making competition training a fair choice.

"Swarm, You are barking up the wrong tree."
I can't bee, swarming is not my forte.

Yes, USCA has the patent to intelligence. I'm waiting for the day when they propose to introduce this EXCELLENT tool in kindergartens.
It isn't cruel when used correctly. Only cruel people make it cruel for their dogs. Those people should be banned and prosecuted.
Please elaborate, how that will be ensured?
My e-fence saves my dogs lives, more so than a gate left ajar, for whatever reason.
That's because either you have set the program TOO PAINFULLY HIGH, or your dogs don't have the correct drives!!
Poking USA by mocking their patriotism isn't wise or even attempting to understand how comparing winners relates to making competition training a fair choice.
I'm not even attempting to understand that!! I don't suppose you're too dumb to come up with THAT meaning of my previous post. I also know that you don't think USCA is a synonym of USA. So, I am treating this as a pathetic attempt to poke the sentiment of fellow Americans a la USCA.
