I was thinking the same thing, he could do it, but would he?
All kidding aside I'd think it would take some pretty intense training for a dog to develope the technique and mindset needed to want to clear a high jump. Do they use a bar or a barrier? I think many dogs are physically able, they just don't feel the need to do it. Mac does it to get out of his kennel, but I'm not so sure he'd do it just for the heck of it.

I had a small female lab when I was a kid who would spring, not jump our 6 foot fence. No running start needed. It was so hard to keep her anywhere. She could also get her head out of any collar no matter how tight. Luckily we could always find her at the same place. In the field around the corner, digging up gophers. She also likes to climb trees, just a strange but fun dog to have as a kid.

The picture showed the grayhound jumping over just a bar.

My current female would go jump over the high jump on her own without being told. She loved to jump.

That's how Mac does it too, 4 pack. Straight up in the air and over the top from a standing start as if he were spring loaded LOL. He just hunkers down, looks at the top of the fence and over he goes like a big gray 90 lb frog. I'm glad he's the only jumper I've ever owned and I've only had one escape artist. Having to deal with both issues in the same dog would be rough LOL.
I'm impressed with any dog that will take a bar jump without a lot of encouragement or without being sent out to retrieve an object on the other side. She must be quite the dog, DR.

My dad has a working line girl, I have a showline boy, though the workingline girl is older now, if the 2 of them the same age my showline boy would run circles around her and still get to the ball faster, he's been jumping out of enclosures ever since I got him at nearly 5 months, the tallest enclosure he has been in is just 6 ft, but he has no problem getting out of those. When my dad's female was younger we used to do jumps with her on a regular basis, she never could clear anything past 34 inches. She's 12 now, has a touch of arthritus but still loves to run, but she never was half as athletic as the showline boy.

My showline bitch can jump over my porch, when she's motivated; straight up when she wants to; climbs, runs, stands up straight & walks on her back legs when she wants to keep watching something that tracking out of her line of sight...she's a riot! She's the quickest thing on four legs...I think the other dog was a white shepherd!LOL!jo

Kalibeck, someone I know had a bitch that could walk on her front legs, honest to god I saw it. It was the funniest thing I ever saw. She did it once in the show ring and the judge about passed out from laughing. She didn't go far, she could only take 3 or 4 steps with her rear legs tucked underneath her and her butt in the air.
Picturing your bitch standing erect and walking so she could see better reminds me of the stars of Merekat Manor on Animal Planet LOL. You really should video her doing that, they might use it on one of their shows and I wouldn't mind seeing it myself. Why spend money to go to the movies when we can watch our dogs doing tricks LOL.

I had a female years ago who learned at 6 months to climb fences. Straight up a corner and off the other side. I also once had a male who may have been poisoned. He had such severe cramping in his hind quarters that he ran on his front legs while spraying feces throughout my house. He soon recovered and forgot his newfound talent.

Oh boy thats sounds not so fun. The spraying of the house part. I have known a few little dogs "not mine" that would walk on the front legs to potty, this was an everyday occurance. Weird but funny to watch.
