Dog with prey drive cannot access drive during bitework - Page 4

I agree with some of the posts.The dog should be worked individually, by a helper who knows what the H*ell he's doing.Should be on a maybe 18"or so soft tug or bite pillow.Bitework has to be Built(Foundation),and some dogs are different, and muture at different times,especially Mentally.A Good,Experienced helper would know How to work that dog.That helper(?) Will definately cause some unnessesary problems that should not be put on any dogs,especailly good dogs with Potential.You have to mold a training program that suits Your dog.Sad case of a wannabe(or Inexperienced ) helper maybe.Three of the best helpers I ever worked my dogs with were Bob Barrett(former training director of  Mid Atlantic Sch Club)and  current owner of K-9 Kraving dog food co.

Back to the original post: why is decoy using a sleeve instead of a rag or a tug. To get initial prey interest, a rag works best, then move up to objects that are less prey like.
