Why fight for a dying organization? The single clubs do have the choice to become members of the stronger organizations in the US.
The dogs don´t care...

HALLELUJA to AKC - everybody is able to register everything - no matter about DNA, conformation, working abilities, and health.
At the end it´s a worthful "working" dog.
Sorry, Bubba, I don´t know your dogs, this was a general statement about AKC.

" I can breed and register GSD all day without being a member of any of these organizations. "
Yes, yes you can!!! And how cool is it that the AKC doesn't care when breeders do 1:1 breeding or breed to males with undescended testicles or breed to dogs that are dysplastic or even breed so maliciously that the breed has lost the ability to naturally reproduce... All hale the AKC as they still recognize and crown champion a dog that is in such poor health due to breeding that it has to constantly rest on a cool pad as the dog will over heat. Yes lets put the AKC on a pedestal because it allows breeders like you to breed indiscriminately and recognize that its a true representation of the breed.
I am sure you are not part of these practices and your ethics guide you better. And as much as you get on here and condem all the other organizations along with those who support them by being memebers and as much as you state how worthless any of the sports are as they do not test a dog in any way. I really really want to know what it is you and your kennel have done to better the breed?

I and 4.5 million other GSD owners in the USA do not believe the BS that biting dog sports nuts peddle that the only way to breed good GSD is to obey the SV and to use a jute sleeve to determine which dogs are fit for breeding. Look around and every biting sport in the USA is smaller each year than the last with fewer and older members .. which is something of an accomplishment as these sports were always insignificant because the membership is exclusionary, corrupt, and so arrogant they think they should tell everyone else what they want from a GSD. The SV is going to start promoting Agility and other non-biting sports because the SV values power and money. Agility and other non-biting sports are growing while the IPO sport in Germany has halved in membership the last 20 years or less. The same hold true in the USA and the world .. the biting sports have lost members as the younger generations have rejected the exclusionary and arrogant culture found in the biting sports. The 1960-1990 culture of Schutzhund/IPO and biting sports which was cruel and overly demanding of the dogs and produced some dangerous dogs which caused many in Germany and Europe to turn away from biting sports. A new generation of trainers began pushing out the cruel training methods and dangerous dogs from biting sports by using positive training methods. However the arrogance and exclusionary nature of the biting sport clubs and organizations combined with institutionalized cheating have driven the nails in their coffin in combination with the general citizen population's distrust of biting dog sports.
