Good job, kitkat! Thanks for sharing! I agree.....we should have fun with our dogs and not lose sight of that fact in pursuit of our own goals or ambitions. I loved the video!!!!
Keep up the good work,
Sarah

joanro, we both know that among the active commenters here, there is a very loud cadre who never fail to spit on North American lines...even when the NA line dogs are half or a quarter WG lines, and they rarely miss an opportunity to bad mouth these dogs. That doesn't even factor in the ones who send private messages to the owners of these dogs to run them down. I agree with Gustav that you stack the deck against the dog when you open up with the defensive "see, the show line dog can..."--the bitch in this video clip needed no allowances made for her breeding. But Blitzen has had her own dogs, as well as top-performing offspring of her dogs, insulted and mocked, and I absolutely understand why she's become averse to sharing anything more about those dogs here. Hell, Xeph made a congratulatory post about her friend's dog being awarded a high honor at Westminster, and just that drew spit from the gallery. The working line members who respect a good dog for the whole of the animal, regardless of the pedigree or lack thereof aren't the people that make other members reluctant to share their dogs...it's the minority of mean ones who can be so toxic as to put the owners of North American line dogs off of posting about them.

Amen, Hexe. It gets very old very quickly. No matter how it's spun around to make it look as if some of us are overly sensitive, it's meanspirited and unnecessary period.

I've received nasty emails because I have dogs containing SL in heir pedigree. Some people can't help being negative no matter what. They can't see past their nose. I pretty much ignore them.

and everyone knows, i don t care negative or positive, i still post my dogs. Hell, my dual purpose k9 has been knocked around about every time i posted about him.
again, i am very proud of my dogs, and my skin has thickened up.
There are quite a few posters here that really enjoy being mean to others. can t wait to insult anyone they can. For the most part though, I respect several people here for their knowlede and opinions. I don t have to agree with everyone.

joanro, I do see your point as well, and you aren't one counted among the viscerally nasty group, because you have shown yourself to be able to appreciate a dog on it's own merit. What I find rather amusing is how impressed the mean ones profess to be with dogs that succeed in KNPV, yet apparently have failed to notice that many of those same dogs have show line dogs in their lineage...some of them within the first three generations. But that doesn't make the slurs any less hurtful when they are aimed at one's heart-dogs.

Yes Joanro plays fair, as an intelligent breeder I wish one day soon she will realize there is much value in a show dog that a work one can benefit from and vise versa, I am certain she can add value to bringing both lines closer in her area if she decides to.
Crhuerta is doing nicely

I would never even think of coming on this forum and belittling anyone else's dog for any reason. I believe in giving support to all GSD's who are in the public eye - police work, on TV in the ring Westminster, at SV and AKC shows, in the OB ring, trials, herding, acting as a service dog, an average person's pet and so forth. Every time a GSD presents a positive picture to the general public, it's a win win for all of us.
