BTW,\

I had went to the site awhile ago and read the whole thing and the only stall mats they mention are the ones for the horse industry.

Again, no literature stating that recycled tires are used in manufacturing rubber cow mats.  Maybe they are, but no one has shown me the literature that shows that.

Joan......I know you didn't say that cows don't lick rubber mats. But your statement, "So you fed your cows rubber mats? Or you fed your cows off the mats? Trying to figure out how the cows standing in milking stations on rubber mats would eat the mats",  implies that cows do not ingest any rubber materials or chemicals from the mats.

Answers to your questions:

Do you know when those mats were manufactured?  No, but rubber flooring did not become popular for livestock until around the time matting made with recycled rubber became more affordable.

Do you know how long dairy cows live and do you know if dairy cows get cancer? About the same time as a horse and yes like horses they can get cancer.

Do you know why so many kids are allergic to milk nowadays? No. Do you? Again, by explanation of proven scientific data.

Do you know how many hours a day those cows are licking the mats? No. But I'm guessing enough to ingest any chemicals.

Do you know how many licks it takes for a cow to ingest carcinogens from recycled tire rubber mats? No. Your assuming again that the mats are unsafe. I disagree.

Do you know if the government has asked those questions about dairy cows a mats? No, I've never looked into it, but I have a little more faith in the FDA than you do it appears.

Anyway like I said.......we have very different opinions on the use of rubber flooring in dog kennels.......I like them.........you do not.

I'm done debating this issue and derailing this thread.

I have zero faith in the fda, that's why I don't drink commercial milk, don't eat commercial eggs, I don't eat commercial meat and most of the vegetables I eat are grown here at the house or bought from friends who grow veg w/o pesticides, etc..
And because I have zero faith in the fda, I won't wait for them to label recycled tire rubber products carcinogenic. Same reason I refrained from using pressure treated wood for dogs and my trained Brahma and around my horses, 35 years ago, long before fda deemed it carcinogenic and banned it's use. As I said, I'm not talking about "generic" rubber, I'm specifically talking about recycled tire rubber. Too bad dairy cows seem to pop up so often taking threds off topic. Only way dairy cows connect with dogs is when the cows develop cancer and are sent to slaughter for dog food.
Incidentally, read RBRubber again...they manufacture floor coverings from recycled tires, I doubt they lable it; "special for your cows". I just want to let people know about it who never knew tire rubber is what their dogs could be sleeping on.
