Or the GSDCA like the WDA can grow there orginizations and train there helpers. Bottom line the only ones who really complain are the withouts!

@Bob McKown, your comment is also relevant to my statement about abolishing cross membership bans.  The helpers train hard and spend lots of money preparing to work professionally.  They should be able to join and serve, as many clubs, as they see fit, without any hindrances, regardless of whom initially trained them.  Likewise, clubs should be able to access the free market and hire whom they choose, to work their events, regardless of club membership.  The only thing that should be discussed, is if they are SV or VDH member club certified, the separate UScA and WDA certification process is absurd in 2014.  Going forward, it should be a universal, non-club specific process, within the United States.

May I ask the purpose of cross membership bans?

oh now you did it Blitzen.  I sure wish there was a popcorn munching/watching the fireworks icon available.

Envy - competition - resentment ( popcorn for me..)

No, honestly, sometimes it´s about basically rules ( is a breeding allowed without titles or not , or something similar important ).

Momo:

May I ask what orginization do you belong to?. Most of the helpers I,ve seen and talked to never say any thing like this? It,s not a issue. I would think it would only be a issue to those who are pressed not having a helper available. In which case why doesnt there orginization deal with the issue by recruting more possible members intrested in doing the work?

I can tell you that neither org has done shit to train me or anyone else I know.  Most of us were lucky to have someone, or in my case quite a few, that took the time to get us going..  They taught us basics and mechanics then sat for hours session after session bringing out older dogs to work and talking about theory.  Then they make us work dogs with low prey in prey and weak dogs with enough threat we wouldn't shut them down and bring out aggression in strong dogs without all the yelling and screaming and banging and cracking of whips until we could.  Some of those people are on that GSDCA list.  Some are on the UScA list.  Like I said before, I'd work any trial that wanted to be judged under the same judge and the same standard.  I can promise you I did not get to where I am today because the UScA or WDA took time to "develop" and "grow" their helper list.  I gave them money, showed what I had and  got certified, many other people including myself did the work.

LOL, it was genuinely a serious question, bczc. I am trying to understand all the negative competion within this entire breed. Most other breeds I am familiar with work together for a common goal; this one doesn't do that as far as I can see. Sort of non-productive in the long run, isn't it?

by Bob McKown on 02 September 2014 - 20:09

All i,m saying is just like the WDA going to the SV because USA would,nt allow them in our trials. It had nothing to do with fairness and every thing to do with them not being able to service there members so then it,s USA fault. Same thing here if you think your helper list is full of old and fat men not able to do the work then instead of whinning for some one elses assets create your own. Helpers are hard to come by everyone knows it and the average age of a helper is rising i,m sure. I,ve never paid a helper as a professional but I tip all my helpers for working my dogs. USCA has developed a helper program to help and test helpers and there abilities for trialing and made those lists available to all USA clubs. Any helper can go to any club any where and do helper work if i,m not mistaken, yes maybe they can,t work a trial for another orginization but thats just the way it is.
