Blitzen, both camps contain people passionate about dogs, but have very differing ideas about what the breed "should be".  You make mention of the "religious zealots" in OT (and I would agree), but some are no less voracious in their approaches to dog breeding.  My personal opinion (I'm sure as many would disagree as would agree), is that we have come to the point where we are dealing with two essentially separate breeds, while we call them by the same name.  Whether or not that is true is neither here nor there, as long the argument remains the cause of the discord you describe. 
As far as OT, I think a lot can be attributed to a few contentious topics, and a few contentious relationships.  Hopefully, a central source of discord has just eliminated itself.  Other than that, let's just say things might be a lot more pleasant all around if some would check their baggage at the door before they logged in.

  I do not envy your position! I understand it is a hard row to hoe, getting all these character's and their shenanigans in line, to try and get some order and rules followed. I know I have stirred the pot a few times, myself.
  I just do not understand why someone like Gouda can rant and rave about a specific religion, trying to incite a religious war, being down right ugly and offensive, yet he is allowed to do that.. I would never get on somewhere and bash a whole religion, say the hateful things he has. Sure, I have called his version of his religion out, because he has opened himself up to ridicule with his hate mongering, hiding behind Christianity. Smearing that religion with his hate..
 I really did start this thread with the intentions of finding out where Moons and VK4 went, since they both just disappeared. Since it went off on the banning topic, I just put my 2 cents in..
I just feel that some people want to throw crap at others, yet cry about it when it's slung back. The blocking should be fair..
  I'm not blaming admins, or being ugly to the admins, if they didn't do the job, we wouldn't have a forum to get on.

Gouda, if you don't want to post here, don't lurk here.  I won't bust your chops over it, but if you truly want to stay away, that's my advice.  I guarantee it will make you want to come back, just one more time, many more times.

My 2 cents, as a new person (yes, still new, even if posting 1 1/2 years), I do miss the informative and pleasant posts that were here when I first joined.  It did seem like more and more posts turned into off topics and unpleasant discussions.

I figure though, this is what I get on the internet.  I filter for the useful info and pictures... rest I ignore.  I do visit less often.

Gouda, you wrote this in a thread I posted. Basically trying to frighten people into believing all Muslims are out to kill us.. I know there are many more posts from you stating we need to be "warned" about the evils of Islamic people.You post numerous links to news stories, showing how violent Muslim people are. How is  trying to incite a whole group of people against another group, based on the actions of a few, not hate mongering? You do not know every Muslim person, yet you condemn them all based on the actions of fanatics. You have offended me greatly, as I have Muslim family members. You have been more hateful towards their religion, as I have ever heard my family members be towards anything Christian.. Crap, they buy my kid's Christmas presents!! But they want to decapitate us all, huh?

Both terrorist and Islamist,want the same thing,the Islamicization of society.

I was pretty much ignoring your rants, until you posted in my thread offending me. Insulting people in my family. I believe you have every right to talk about your beliefs, but you have to know the way you go about doing it, the things you say, are going to piss people off. Just as you have the right to post your views,so do other's who oppose those beliefs..
