The time to ask about fair prices and pedigrees is before the purchase.  At this point, if you are happy with your dog and the breeder, I wouldn't stress over the money or the pedigree.

Some breeders will always nitpick everything that isn't theirs.  Even some of the nicest, most honest and helpful breeders I know sometimes seem quick to point out "faults" in other dogs.  I spend a LOT of time up front researching what dog I want and have never been unhappy with what I've got regardless of what my friends or other breeders think.

troopscott. there are several pups here on pdb for $750 with parents who are both titled. could you post the links please?

The lineage of Anja goes back to West German Conformation Lines, I would show her in SV conformation venues she would perhaps be better appreciated there. I don't know of anyone here selling titled West German line pups for $750, it would be a surprise to me.

The first puppy add I clicked on had these guys for 1k. Like anything you can negotiate a price down

well i gotta hand it to ya troopscott. you did deliver but only 1 of those litters are both titled. the firstitter you posted the mother only has her BH right now and those are advertised for $1000. But you did manage to come up with one litter. My hats off to you.

When I posted that there were two litters in the $600 range. I will go back and find them I am traveling but will look for them tonight on a computer vs cell phone

My puppies go for $800 out of health tested, titled parents. Like others have mentioned, it depends on what area you are in. Around here, $800 is about all I can get, even with a stellar pedigree. The same litter would sell for $1,500 or more in another part of the state/country, and/or if offered for sale by a 'big name'.
