Elidog, if you could really find a dozen ' witnesses' prepared to
swear a complete stranger had neglected a dog to the point of
starvation, just on your say-so, then you are moving in some
really charming circles.  I should find some new friends, if I were
you.

Well actually my friends are the first to point if I do something stupid. The point seems to be missed which is a photos and a couple of ravings on the internet doesn't make it so or maybe that's all it takes in the UK.

Hexe has done nothing, on this board and others, or off,  to reflect poorly on her character or motivation.   She has always carried herself as an honest, straight-forward, caring person who truly cares about the dogs. Period.

Jeffers may have matured over the past several years.  Hopefully, he has.  Whether to the point of making amends, if warranted, or acknowledging his actions, I have no clue...and apparently neither does anyone else who has posted here.

I would point out that Helser, among others, has also NOT been convicted of much of anything involving the dogs in his care, either.

Bottom-line:  whether these past actions reflect on Jeffers, and by extention WDA, is  WDA's problem.  It is for WDA's leadership and membership to determine whether and how to address it.   Hexe, you have pointed out the issue, which is actually all you can do.   Going forward, let WDA-people deal with it  in whatever manner they choose.

Hexe:   See you in Philadelphia?

Keith:  Sounds like you have a couple of good friends, IMO, as I am firm believer that being a friend gives me the right, if not obligation, to tell a friend when his/her stuff stinks.

If you are looking for the dark side of german shepherd training the GSDCA and GSDCA-WDA are not the best place to look.  I would suggest that the GSDCA and GSDCA-WDA members are least likely to tolerate mistreatment of their dogs during care or training.  There is another group that claims to be "for the german shepherd dog" and has been where more closed practices and "result oriented" training is practiced.  The smaller GSD groups that practice with knives in their teeth are also suspect on the good to fido scale of justice.  Then their are the even more "no namby pamby training groups" that want to drop their dogs out of helicopters and sky dive into enemy territory.  I also suspect the preppers and the survivalist are not giving fido a warm and fuzzy feeling during training.  If you want to wage a holy war go to the holy land.

Bubbabooboo,

Huh?  I don't know Jeffers, so I will not speak to his integrity or if he has or has not abused dogs.
As far as the WDA and the other organization(s) you implied are for the German Shepherd dog but are more likely to support abuse? I am sure there are good and bad apples in ALL organizations.

Statements have been made about Jeffers and I would hope that those making the choices take the time to assure that this man is worthy to represent the GSDCA-WDA.

I am a member of the GSDCA and the GSDCA-WDA and I plan to call both organizations tomorrow and tell them I think Ray Jeffers is an excellent helper and is a fine candidate for a helper for the WUSV in 2013 because he is.  The Michael Vick smear was intentional and beyond the rules of good taste or sane thinking.  People with a grudge to satisfy against Ray Jeffers have decided to use this web forum to retry a legal case long ago closed.   I invite everyone who has actual personal knowledge and personal experiences either good or bad with Ray Jeffers to call in your support or condemnation to the GSDCA and/or the GSDCA-WDA.  Those without personal experience and relying on this forum for facts about Ray Jeffers or anyone else you might want to skip the Kool-Aid as it has been poisoned. .

kitkat3478, you're wrong.  The site would be named in any civil suit in order to facilitate subpoena's.  A law firm may choose to do it another way, but the way I described works, so it is used almost all the time.

Momo is correct.

I do not know this individual, I do know people....having said that, people who make mistakes should be held accountable for their actions. Once they have, they are equally responsible to go and make that mistake no more. My problem is with society, if the person continues in their way society has every right to shun or remove them. If the person reforms their ways from that point onward, society has a responsibility to judge the person now on the now. Otherwise, what reason WOULD a person have to reform their ways if society is going to ignore the reform and constantly judge them on the past. This encourages people to stay as they were because that is the way they are being seen. I would like to think we have evolved as a society past the point of eternal retribution. I understand it is difficult for some to forgive, but for those that DONOT know this individual, he has the right to be treated for what he is today. Jmo
