Rocco German Shepherds

by Rocco German Shepherds on 08 February 2013 - 18:02

Thank-you Sunsilver.  I promise to update my dogs testing before I consider doing another litter!  One of the tests that I have had done that there isn't room for here is a genetic test for cataracts and a few other detectable accelerated aged conditions that can be found when they are puppies.  Dogs that have these genes ideally shouldn't be bred.  My angry ranting lost my points in translation.  The group that I came into the club with would have never bred to a female that didn't have her hips x-rayed and for their sake I need to update this profile!  Thanks for your help and I promise to be more responsible with my activity on this site!

Leslie, you can post that info in the 'comments' section. I did that for my female, when she OFA'd as mildly dysplastic in one hip, and at that time, the choices under the hip score section wouldn't let you state how bad the dysplasia was.

Wow Leslie are you sure both all three posts are from the same person?  I like the person from the second and third post.Teeth Smile

IMHO, one does not need to test for all genetic conditions, eg cataract, that's a waste of money. One tests for serious conditions, or if there is a reason such as prior dogs with condition.
