Without scaring them off, see how much info you can get and try to make them understand that you need more before giving a reward. It may be a hoax. Or, it may be a nervous person who doesn't want to get involved if there isn't a big payout for them.

Agree proof of location, prior to reward being paid, but I would definitely be agreeable to payment once I had established that the information did lead me to the location of my dog, no question. I don't think its realistic to base reward on recovery, as this person may have no control over that if they only know 'where' he is or who has him. I just hope this is true. Pat you must be so wired, please hold the thought that this may be a blind alley, I know it's hard...but the disappointment would be so much worse if it is untrue. Good luck.

I have called internal affairs I spoke to a Lt. he did his own investigation He told me that all dogs are donated to k9 program if they dont make it they are to be returned to their owner. By the Troopers testimony Aldo came to program June 07 he said all dogs must be checked for microchip Aldo was reported stolen May 07. The internal affairs LT. called and told me that Aldo was in a good home, I asked for the location he said he did not have it. I then asked him for a written report he said he did not write one up ,but made sure troopers were not in posession of a stolen dog. I have decided to take the advice of the ju dge and take the girl who was suppose to watch him to court. TO get as much information as I can to find Aldos location. Cathy Rogers has two litters expected hausdakagermanshepards I hope everyone will know that she swore under oath Aldo and Bolton were never offered as studs, yet they are on her website. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!

If the police KNEW that the dog was stolen, then why in the hell didnt they return the dog? The fact that he "is in a good home" doesnt mean squat if he is still being offered at stud and you dont have him. Is this a big police dept?

Then go up the food chain and threaten to go to the media if the dog is not returned. They won't want it in the media that they didn't follow dept policy with their k-9 program. Would call everything every k9 has done in the field into question if the most basic of guidelines during training is not being followed

For all the hard work you have done to get the dog back, I'd have to get an atty if it was me. Because now you know that they know where the dog is. Just because they are big, doesnt mean they get to play by their own rules. I can tell you where I live (Vegas) our police dept is sued all the time. As a matter of fact a large portion of their budget is reserved for suits people file upon them.
Your not asking for money, only that your dog be returned. If they play the "I dont know where my dog is" then I'd sue.
It still blows my mind that the woman who stole him can be ok with herself. Karma roosts on all of us. I wouldnt want to be her.

Was hoping you would have better news than this Pat. It is cruel to think that they know where the dog is but will not reveal that information to his rightful owner. Everyone else, and I mean everyone from the PD through to this awful woman are in the wrong and are being allowed to get away with it.
I think the others are right, go up the foodchain, go to the media and make sure they know that this will bust wide open....not go away.

I have been in touch with the media the women I spoke with was all set to cover the story on the local news, but her boss would not let her.Could be due to Shaker Vet Hospital where Cathy Rogers worked at the time runs lots of ads on their station? I am working to get an attorney. This has been a crime from the start. The vet where I had him chipped faxed his records to Cathy Rogers based only on a phone call by someone saying they were me. I had changed Vets so its proof that if it were I that called I would have given his current vet records. I just want to find him. He is always on my mind.

You sound like a tough lady, and have a real good reason to push this hard. Either go to her boss or a different newspaper/tv station. I'm sure another news station would love to know some other station wants to stifle the story. Do you have TV shows that do 'expose' stories?
Don't give up, there is someone out there that is going to help you, you just haven't found them yet.
